We have 2 55 gallon drums and a hand pump. When one is empty we call the co-op and they come out to fill or replace the empty one.

 

Both. It’s available is 275 gal IBCs. Haven’t heard of anyone doing true bulk ( delivered in a tanker). Some of the big DCs or freight hubs that use company or contracted fleets might be.

 

I always get it at the pump. I do carry extra just in case though.

Most all truck stop pumps have been updated and def is at the pumps.

 

Both, depends on locations and job.

When I drove class A ... I did both. Some fuel stations didn't have it available at the pump so I had to buy it in bottles. But if a pump was available ... that was my preference.

But DEF is just another money-making scheme. The pollution that doesn't go into the air ends up on the roads and, ultimately, the waterways. Exhaust is exhaust whether it's in the air or on the ground.

 

You sell welding supplies right? So you know the nitrogen and nitrous oxide aren’t the same thing? Carbon dioxide and oxygen? Acetylene( C2H2 )and Hydrogen?

The Urea in DEF converts the various nitrogen oxides to nitrogen, water, and CO2. Nitrogen and water are not a pollutant, NOx is. CO2 is arguable, maybe.

 

My primary two work trucks (2008 KWT800, 1998 WesternStar 4700) do not require DEF, so neither.

Two of my others (2010 KWT800) do require DEF. For those, wetypically just fill them up at the DEF pump as necessary. I think they’re 7 gallon tanks. We also have a bunch of 2 gallon jugs around the shop for the smaller diesel trucks in the fleet.
