I notice a lot of times we get random links posted to good deals throughout the various forums. There is a heck of a deal right now from a somewhat local retailer that I'd love to share with the community. I'm not affiliated with this company other than being a customer and it dawned on me as I wok up this morning that having a central area for deals and sales might be beneficial.

To prevent advertising spamming, maybe a limitation on how many links to one site per account or ip address. It would also be a good place for newbies to find the meta-search sites.

I only support people that are members of this community. If a local reseller has some good deals, tell them to join this community.

Family and friends come before strangers

--------- EDIT -----------

I'am working on a project will allow people to post limited advertising on the site. So if a reseller has a sale on an item, they will be able to run an ad for X amount of time. Its going to tie in with the merchants accounts.

All the exact details have not been worked out, but its past the research phase and now in the planning phase.

In the end, I'am hoping to make advertising deals and specials a lot easier for both resellers and consumers.

It's actually a better one this weekend. Same place.

30-round AK mags for $9 each. Normal price is $10 each.

Here's the thing, though... It's local. I don't want to be accused of pimping out a company I may have a connection to (honestly, how would kev or the mods know otherwise?).

Sheesh. I'm late to the party. I figured this was a dead thread walking, so I didn't come back to look.

kev- If I get a chance to talk to Doc Cheney tomorrow, I'll mention this site and see if he's interested. He's on at least one Nevada site, so it's possible.

I too think this would be a good idea. I think it would be cool to set it up like you start a thread with the title and all that junk, then you have pull down boxes where you have different options to describe it further for sorting into sections.

For example:
I just saw this hand crank radio thing on woot.com

I would start out by posting the title info like what it is, who makes it and how much it is. This would be info everyone would see. Then you have drop down boxes to sort it.

Just an example of my vision . :)

kev,
I totally know what you're saying about supporting friends before strangers because we all know that there are PLENTY of scum bags out there just trying to get your money with zero regard for customer service or an understanding of their customers. I guess why I'm saying I would like to see a dedicated area for people to post deals, is every once in a while I'll go back like 3 or 4 pages of a forum to see if I've missed any good threads and I'll find deals people posted that I would have LOVED to jump on but they have expired by that point.

Either way I'm excited to see what you come up with.

just thinking - (you know me, Miss Obnoxious) that you don't need a whole section, so much as just a sticky. People would check it for new posts. Esp given that most deals only last a little while.

Whaddayareckon ay?

(PS I love saying 'whaddayareckon ay' it's up there with 'yeah, right'. Don't say these things in real life but just love posting wrutten kaywayusums! :D: :D: :D:)
