26 million people in Shanghai on indefinite lock down have had enough of the BS.
Looks like having some food and water stored at home really IS a good idea.

What was that line from Mao - something comes from the barrel of a gun. Too bad Mao took all the guns so the only way to protest now is to die because they can't fight back.

I think all the china workers should just take a knee and not go to work for a few days - Lets see how Poo Bear deals with a labor strike

I agree but most every thing is made in China , or the parts are made there
there is nothing we can do really .
That attitude + need for instant gratification is how we got here. It's hard to find alternative sources, but it can be done. It depends on how much time an individual is willing to commit to helping their country.

Ne,

More than a "few".

This program prevented Boeing going into receivership/bankruptcy here in US.

Think of the once rich Penn Central Railroad, the world's largest and most modern air cargo company, Flying Tiger Lines, ... amny more US companies.

The President of Boeing China, Inc had more and faster access to China's leadership than the US Ambassador did.

The number I heard yesterday, in China, on lockdown was 400,000+. close to 1/2 BILLION people on Total Lockdown.
Many of the major cities, not just Shanghai.

We thought we had supply chain issues before???

Even if North America cleans up it's port back-ups and trucking issues, curtailment of Chinese manufacturing will have worldwide consequences.
We even send food to China for processing. Pigs are sent from the USA, to China, for processing, packaging, then sent back.
So, even though we produce the food here, China is still in the food supply chain too.

This is going to add on top of the Inflation already being experienced.

Time to tighten belts, hunker down, get lean, stock up, and endure the hardship. I remember the high inflation, high unemployment, stagflation, of the late 70s.
I remember gas rationing and Even/Odd days. And though the prices for fuel are high, I'm keeping my truck and my containers topped off.

I fear the younger generations are about to see what happens when the economy goes sideways.

Japan news (on PBS) Monday morning said 20major cities in china shutdown.

We're now shipping LOT of complete frozen hog carcasses to chicomland. They are processing in their packing houses (as they have destroyed a tremendous # domestic hogs). Do you have a link the discusses them sending package pork back to the US. I don't think this is correct. The chicoms are buying for their domestic use. Pork is a HUGE staple in China/as bread was in old eurp. The chicoms import large amount of feed for their port/chicken feeding operation.

The Chinese cities would starve without US (and Ukrainian) food imports. Food riots is a real thing and can be the head chicoms well understand that this would be a guaranteed fall from power.
