Had some tinker time on my hands and thought to make a coffee can stove. Works really well and for someone with no plans and sketches i thought it turned out real nice.
With stove pipe cement to seal the gaps, it runs real good. No backdraft at all.
Have to make better legs as the stove is rather thin metal and they flex easily. Makes lots of heat. I will need to make dampers for it and a front door. With minimal tools i think it came out great even if it is ugly as sin!!!

Just wanted to show off my new baby....lol!

Hey if it works for you, then great. Go to the thrift/2nd hand stores, keep your eye out for something about that size made of stainless steel (cookie cans?, use stainless pop rivets, nuts & bolts it would then last for years.

I would use beer/pop cans for the chimney - they will not last long but they are plentiful.

I built a rocket stove out of a tin can and it works pretty good. I haven't cooked anything on it though. I just have it sitting around as a "backup". I also just used sand in it as I was too busy or lazy to go try to find vermiculite to line it with as the insulator. If you can't find metal coffee cans and you're feeling hungry, or you feel like freezing the left-over contents, most grocery stores carry all kinds of stuff in #10 cans. Baked beans, pudding, whatever, whatever. Or you could probably ask at a restaurant or school cafeteria if you know a school teacher who might ask for you and you could get all the #10 cans you want. :)
