I didn't expect such a massive difference between CLP brands, but dang. When I bought my AR15 I picked up a cleaning kit that came with a CLP by a company called Kleenbore. This stuff has been wonderful. It's a thick oily gun cleaner/lube and my rifle has run flawlessly for 1500 rounds with it. I think I left my Kleenbore CLP at the range because I can't find it so I went to WalMart and bought BreakFree CLP. This is a totally different animal. This is an aerosol and it does not *seem* to be a lubricant of any sort. It dries and wipes off very easily. It is not very oily and so different in viscosity that I probably won't fire my rifles until I get more of the Kleenbore.
Anyway, it was an eye opener learning that not all CLP are created equally. So consider this post a two thumbs up for Kleenbore brand CLP and an "I'm not so sure about you" for BreakFree.
