Are there U.S. police stations in China?

 

Sure we call them legal attaché ( and staff) . Usually FBI, but sometimes USSS, DEA, ATF, etc). And we are not above sending them unaccredited. It gives credibility to certain renditions.

But “police stations“ gets so many more clicks.

 

I don't understand this "police station" thing.

If the point is to detain some people, you can hit them over the head and lock them in the toilet or shove them into the closet. Why "police station"?

Non official Chinese law enforcement overseas serves two purposes, observation of certain classes of dissidents and investigation of Chinese criminals using persecuted minority status to avoid extradition and continue cross border criminal activities.
Its unlikely that unofficial Chinese LE are involved in influence operations concerning the Chinese diaspora or intelligence operations concerning the host nations persons, thats the job of the 2PLA and the UFWD.

 

They need to keep check on all of thier students here in the U.S.

 

They use other trained students for monitoring, your not going to waste an officer on the student body unless they are in league with criminal groups or the very limited classes of dissenters likely to be monitored by these officers.

 

These " stations" probably work by threatening their relatives in China if they dont return "home" to China.7
