He is an OTR truck driver. He said the trucking convoy is gaining traction in the US. His warning was this, if we do this, be prepared for food and fuel to be shut down within 3 days. What is the chatter at your end?

I haven’t heard anything but I also believe things will get tight.

I don’t think interstate commerce will come to a screeching halt but I do think corporate America will punish the peasants for supporting a protest for freedom. If people don’t see the importance of being prepared by this point then I’m doubtful many will realize it before a protest starts.

I've heard some things. Nothing I'd say that's set in stone but yeah, drivers are talking about it. Of course, this isn't anything new. Lots of talk over the years about this here in the states.

Whats lacking: unity and organization. I think the unity is growing but without organization and a clear goal it's not likely to go anywhere.

It's best to believe nothing that you hear and less than half of what you see. If there's anything more disgusting, it's rabid rumors!

My advice about funding a conservative/freedom movement is to not use a third party to collect and distribute funds. Tough to do, especially if said movement has no leader/organizer but another more direct way must be found. Otherwise the govt or LE, or the other gofundme's might be politically opposed and seize funds. Legal or not they will do it, as we've seen with the Canadian convoy.

And folks I gotta tell ya....without public support no convoy is going to happen here. I'm not just talking about monetary support either. It's vital but not the end.

United we will stand.

While I certainly agree that using a 3rd party to manage funds is a bad idea, it did shine a light on how intrenched and widespread the tentacles of evil have spread around the world. It also shows how many of the advantages of modern, technology driven society are made unavailable to those who will not abide with (or cowtow too) the tyrannical insanity. I’m actually finding some humor that we are seeing the actual “working class” giving the middle finger to those who have long claimed to be a champion of it while providing nothing but lip service and mandates.

The trucking industry is already being squeezed. I work for a truck dealership, and between the shortage of new replacement trucks and nationwide parts shortages the industry as a whole is falling behind on moving loads where they need to go. Add in the current winter weather and labor shortages, parts stock shipments have gone from 1-5 days to 2-4 weeks in most cases. A lot of truck trailers are being shipped by rail as major freight carriers like UPS and FedEx are having to park trucks because of parts shortages. So a major trucking slowdown has been in effect since late 2021, and its going to get a lot worst before it gets any better.

The question is what kind of fearmongering bull💩 chatter is that? And what's his reliable source(s) besides the rabid rumor mill?

There are hundreds if not thousands of truckers, and companies with social media. Including many trucker channels on YouTube. I talk to many of them privately.

Take it fwiw. The sources are reliable.

I again ask you why you think a protest against an over reaching and down right tyrannical govt is fear mongering?

there is a US freedom convoy group on Gab. it was cancelled off of Facebook, so it's not just idle talk and rumors. and not fearmongering.

though I doubt the country would be out of food and gas in 3 days...Canada's going on 2 weeks now and people are still getting supplies.

JIT is a myth, there is always pools of inventory along different parts of the supply line, you just don't usually see or know about it. it takes generally 4-6 weeks to completely drain a pipeline.

The whole 3 days and no food/fuel is if ALL trucking comes to a halt.

Companies will run regardless of any protests.

The majority of protestors will be from mom and pop outfits and single owner OPs. This may create a bump in the freight markets, may affect the area where the protest is taking place, but it would not collapse the industry and create any serious issues.

A widespread trucker shut down would, but no one's talking about doing anything like that right now.

No need to fear folks. Unless you live in DC this very likely will have no adverse effects for you.

I stil believe that instead of driving across the country, all trucks should have some kind of mechanical issue that keeps them from delivering anything to DC or the surrounding area for a few days. That will send a louder message than anything when the wild ones start to panic in the CONgress' neighborhood. That way there is no real cause, just a failure to deliver which would make a great point about the regulations strangling the industry.

A big convoy in a small country with small trucks is much easier than in a big country with big truck.

In the US the average distance to DC is 1000 miles. Trucks have to get there AND back. So 2000 miles. If the trucks average 4 to 6 miles a gallon that is 350-500 gallons of fuel per truck. Average diesel price right now is $3.80 That amounts to $1300 to $1900 in fuel PER TRUCK on average. If they are coming from the west coast the cost is $2600-$4000 per truck.

Then add in a loss of revenue for a week or two.

And you can assume it would only be owner operators who are able to take their trucks on an nonpaying trip across the country.

It becomes a very large commitment to participate in such a protest. To the point that only the extremest will show up. And when only the extremest show up it makes it easy paint the entire movement as a quack. All it takes is one klan or nazi group to show up and the entire group is written off as inbred racists.

Compare that to NZ, No truck has to drive more than 200 miles, with the average being only 100 miles. Their trucks are smaller so I would assume they get slightly better gas mileage. So that should make it easier to get larger percentage of truckers who believe in the cause to participate.

If truckers really wanted to protest in the US they should simply not work for a week. Call in sick and stay home. That way they don't need to come up with fuel and maintenance on their trucks they aren't getting paid for. And any trucker can participate, not just owner operators. I am a truck driver. If I tried driving my truck to DC I would be fired on the spot and maybe face jail time for theft. But I can call in sick for a week with no repercussions from work.

March 1 is the tentative date due to the State of the Union being scheduled the same day. Most of the info is being put out via Telegram. There is a Telegram group for each state. If you use Telegram, you can find the groups by searching The Peoples Convoy.

Freedom Fighter Nation has joined them and is helping with legalities, organizing, other stuff involved.

Goal is to support Canada, New Zealand, England, Australia and other nations who have already convoyed as well as fight the mandates that still exist here.

If they roll though Dallas, I will be providing support as much as I can reasonably do.

For folks interested in supporting any kind of movement here in the states, or if your interested in learning more about trucking, or just want a few laughs ( bonehead truckers ) here are several of the larger trucker youtubers. These guys could and should play a major role in organization, spreading the word and reporting the truth unlike the media should an event take place.

It's mostly truckers that watch and support these channels but they'd love to hear from the general public, and certainly would appreciate your support.

Those will get you started. I encourage anyone that wants to support any convoy type protests go to these channels and let them know your with em.

Yes, the small trucking co's and the OO out there would just be a bump in the supply line.
Big co's like Swift and JB will keep rolling. Some of the drivers may quit, but most will stick with it, until they find a higher paying co.
With no American support, I don't see it happening.
And, if it does happen, why spend fuel driving to DC. Just park the rigs.

In Re "all locked up"above: Federal law requires the ability to weigh trucks, to get matching freeway maintenance funds from the government. They do not require the actual practice. NM has two freeways, and two locations - one per direction - for a total of four, and two portable scales, which move about as often as Nancy pelosi says something sensible. Never saw a scale in place or in operation in 28 years here.

I am behind the national protest in Canada. And if truckers want to do a national protest in the USA I will be behind you as well. However, it seems to me that most of the restrictions have been implemented at the state level. If a national protest is going to happen local protests at various state capitals should occur simultaneously. The drivers that can’t afford to drive thousands of miles to DC might be better able to drive up the coast (slowly) and protest there.

"Owner Operators make up 9% of the truckers on the road today..." ...about 350,000.

There are approximately 3.6 million professional truck drivers in the United States, according to the American Trucking Associations (ATA). I imagine those driving company owned trucks.... won't or can't participate.

BUT......

If even 1/3 of the owner operators participate... that's about 115,000 drivers and trucks.... that's a big deal.
