I moved to Cali from the midwest in 1982. Lived there 32 yrs and watched everything I held dear get torn apart by the crazy nuts running the place. Fought the good fight in the early 90s, but conservatives lost 25 yrs ago.

Here is the result, no one wants to move to California anymore, and everyone that can is leaving. Here are the latest statistics, Rate at which people stopped moving to California surprised researchers: 'Statewide phenomenon'

This is critical for people looking ahead to an uncertain future.

If the exodus continues then it might be possible to rent a room to live in for less than $2000 per month.

Hey, it could happen!

The last I heard Section 8 single rooms went for $2,500 in the Bay area. I do not expect the cost of housing to drop anytime soon.

When I was growing up I was proud to live in California: now I am glad that I am out

Hick,
I remember California as the best of the best of so much.

Then something happened.

The place reminds me of what happened to eastern Europe for a few decades.

Unfortunately, they're migrating to Red States. On a mission to "convert" the gun-toting racist homophobic Trump-supporting red necks to their True Religion of progressive democratic Socialism. And their god: Biden.

It's astonishingly similar to how parasites work.

They suck the life out of the host. Then they leave and move on to another host.

I was born and raised here and have figured out how to survive no matter what comes my way. I am out in the sticks so that helps. I go to Sacramento maybe 3 times a year and Placerville maybe twice a month. I work for myself out in the woods and at home so don't deal with people much. I have too much going for me here to move.

It’s funny that most everyone that leaves Cali is completely happy, while those that say they are staying, all stay despite hating the place, while avoiding everyone, and counting the days until they can leave.

Sell your place, buy twice as much house and land for half the money, go to work making 70% of what you did there, and STILL have a better life with more in the bank.

yup but conservatives lost because they got in bed with the religious right and the military industrial complex instead of standing by the Constitution. Once the cold war ended, the pragmatic engineering folk that voted Repub either retired , died or moved away in the early 90s and no one likes a bunch of bible toters saying they must carry a child they don't want so the ******** issue alienated a HUGE amount of young voters (myself included) and they voted for Perot -- 21% popular vote for a third party candidate in CA was huge but the right didn't understand why and still doesn't get it. Now we have commie authoritarian earth worshippers screwing the place up. If sanity is ever going to come back to CA it's going to be in the form of someone with Libertarian / Constitutional principles, not a socialist and not a bible thumper.

Exactly how I feel.

It's not like the rest of the country isn't following suit and it's not all CA's fault. The area I live in CA is over 75 percent conservative, it's Kevin McCarthy's (House Minority leader) district. Bakersfield is what turned his district purple, not East Kern County

Yes, it sucks having the leftards of LA, San Francisco and especially the fools in Sacramento running the place. But I came back here to help the last remaining vestiges of sane people try to save this state.

My home town in WI has been over run by the American Communist college and crazies from Minneapolis, The Tri county area is solid blue, At least here in the desert it is too inhospitable for the entitled crowd.

And here I'm the last major civilization area before my place in NV, I'd stay there all the time if I could but I would still have to drive 2 1/2 hours to get supplies in Ridgecrest or Bishop, I hate going into Northern Vegas aka Pahrump

What I don't get is people who leave these very red areas and complain and say they are so glad to get out of here, like they are trying the sympathy card or something.

People tend to forget that California is a VERY large state. One of the largest in the U.S.

It's myopic to focus just on the southern coastal areas i.e. San Francisco to San Diego. Which is really only a portion of the people of California. And to say that California as a whole is filled with crazy liberals.

One of the roadside vendors in this small desert town in so called 'everybody's a leftist CA' from last week before the cold snap.. Heck, the only roadside vendor in this PoDunk town, Complete with tumbleweeds.

It's a bad pic because the setting sun caused havoc with my cheap phone, but those are all Trump flags or Let's go Brandon

Last week Dec 2021, not prior election either. Anybody turning on the main road towards base had the opportunity to stop and buy a flag and alot did, He was also selling I did that stickers, I'm not sure if it made Sal (the gas station owner) happy or not.

In fact, I would be safe to say that alot of CA's downturn post Gov Reagan years were hippies from Eastern States that stayed and spread their crap. As well as, the sheltered children/grandchildren of people drawn to CA in the late 70's and early 80's for high paying jobs.

So you can't place all the blame on CA in general, the cold socialist/communist civil war that is already upon us isn't geographical North vs. South, East Coast vs West Coast, or even CA vs the rest of America. It's predominately generational, brainwashed Millemials and now Gen Z's against their parents and grandparents.

In fact. interesting statistic: more Californians voted Republican in 2019 than Wi and MN combined.

Blaming CA is the easy way out.

I need to clarify, Urban vs Rural, too. The area I live is proof how high population centers are ruling/ruining the rural areas, and that's like that across America, not just CA

CA's biggest mistake was changing the CA Senate in 1968 from being based by county to popular vote and then of course these stupid referendum's where everybody in LA and San Francisco get to pass a law for everybody in the state based on their whims and desires.

Swen, Nevada should be Rectangular.

You might enjoy fishing in the Ozarks next spring.
Dear Hick...PLEASE stop inviting people to come to the Ozarks, we're already experiencing uncontrolled growth from Commiefornia and Texas which is driving real estate prices thru the roof here in NW Arkansas! Please tell people that the Ozarks is a ****hole and everyone wears bib overalls and smokes corn cob pipes! A whole lot of people here would seriously appreciate no one else moving here! Not kidding!

It appears California is losing its middle class, the ones staying are most likely those making six figures (plus) and can afford to live there or the homeless who don't care one way or another.

As far as liberals corrupting red states goes, I'm not seeing that happen, when you look at liberals and conservatives in general you might (correctly) draw the conclusion it's a small percentage at the fringes who are making a ruckus and creating a fuss.

It appears the inoculation for rabid activism is a happy peaceful (usually red state) environment. Do red states have activists? yep! they sure do, however their activist rantings (both left and right) usually fall on deaf ears, aka they are generally ignored...

The way it usually goes is, they come, they try, they get ignored, they either get frustrated and leave or come around to a more reasonable point of view and become accepted.

Part of the problem is those on the fringes make the most noise and the parties feel like they have to respond to those making the noise because it is partially assumed that the whole party is making that noise.

I'm in the Inland Empire of California just east of Los Angeles. Currently for every 10 households moving out, there are 8 households moving in. The latter are largely refugees from Los Angeles County who've had enough. Riverside County has an excellent sheriff who has stood up to the governor and an excellent DA as well. I plan on staying here for the immediate short term.

You punked me! I was excited and thought CA was leaving the Union. Next time put 'I'm leaving CA.'

Anway, you are right. Reps are nothing in CA politics. Lost cause. Dems control CA. Actually, Mehico controls the vote. Viva la Reconquista!

CA was sold off for cheap labor. And CA can control D.C. with lawsuits...so Mehico can control D.C. and the USA.

Get with the program Hicks! I was born in L.A., lived there 35 years. Had enuf decades ago. Only regret is I don't own millions dollar, termite eaten shacks that sell for a couple of mil...so I could sell them now!
