Open Range. By a long shot. Sometimes I get the DVD out, and just watch the gunfight. I don't know for sure how realistic it is, but that's how I always imagined it would be, minus some of the dramatic stuff.

One good shot, and then complete pandemonium.

Children of men was an awesome movie. But I guess my vote would probably be the battle for tarawa in the series The Pacific check it out if you have never seen it.

Really feel it when he dives into that dried up fountain of broken bottles.

Fury was a terrible movie because there is no way a Sherman than couldn't move would stand a chance in an open field fighting a German infantry company.

Best gun fight in a Movie

I think the title of the film was "Heat", with Al Pacino, Robert DeNiro and Val Kilmer among others. The sequence of interest specifically was the "get away" immediately following the bank robbery. Shoot and scoot complete with coordination of cover fire during movement and reloading.

 

Best war movie easily is Band of Brothers.


Best Gun fight is probably HEAT. I though Pacino was a dysfunctional ***** in it, but a great movie.



Other favs. Unforgiven, Josey Wales, Fury

 

Yep Heat. I thought nobody would mention it but two did.

 

Check out John Wick has some great gun fights

 

I thought it was terribly unrealistic.

 

Tom Cruise in Collateral was good when he was being robbed in the alley, fury, saving private ryan beach landing was spectacular, heat gun fight was awesome, im looking forward to seeing John Wick.

 

John Wick and Collateral have some wicked "modern techniques" on display. They clearly had a professional(s) do the training.

The night club scene in John Wick is ridiculous. From the mag changes, movement tactics, close-to-body grip and firing...awesome.

Open Range get's away from a lot of the usual movie cliche's.

Act of Valor has some really great moments. The sound editing seems as close to real gun fire as I've heard in movies.


The Way of the Gun has some pretty epic scenes as well.

Definitely Eastwood at the end of Unforgiven was one of my fav. also Tombstone's "Huckleberry" scene.

 

best is probably HEAT in second, but the best of all time, is THE WILD BUNCH

During the shooting of acts of valor they used live ammo for almost every shot..

By the way I dare someone not to watch that movie when the swift boats roared in and not start bouncing in their seat. Even my kids love that part

 

wow, no mention of the Sundance Kid's final scene? Terminator II had some fine gunhandling being done by the lead lady

Equilibrium: Not saying this one is realistic by any stretch of the imagination, but it was fun to watch. Especially if you enjoy flashy martial arts style things as well.

Highly recommend the movie, good commentary style movie, low budget though on effects, but still very good.

 

Tombstone, Where Wyatt (Kurt Russell) walk out to the middle of the stream to deal with the cowboys.

 

Yes, the tea house scene in Hard Boiled. Even if those guns don't have that kind of ammo capacity.

 

No one has mentioned Last Man Standing

 

I freaking love that movie. Don't care what the critics say. The grinding, savage, minimalist music in the background, the grit and smuttiness and desperation, Willis' facial expressions as he goes apenuts with double fisted .45s.

Cold-hearted, steely eyed dialogues, presaging a sudden burst of over-ammo'd violence.

Great, gritty, movie, worthy of it's Yojimbo and Fistfull of Dollars heritage.
