If you got 'em tell me what you think. Kinda wish the style was offered in .45 but its a good looking good.

I can't offer you any first hand experience but I know someone that has one and he is very satisfied with it.

I looked at them extensively while shopping for a CX4. I opted to go with the PX4 combo for the extra mag capacity and slightly smaller profile. Mainly the mag capacity though. They (92s) are the best looking handgun on the market.

You can get a Taurus P92 for less and it is the same (almost exact) as the Beretta.

Been to the armors school years back. Carry (forced to)at work every day now, refer to them as a Beretta brick, if I recall 32 moving parts. Me, well I think they suck.
When I retired from my other job several years ago I was given my duty weapon a Beretta Cougar (40 cal) promptly gave itto my son.

I like mine alright. I use cheap surplus magazines and my handloads and never have trouble with reliability. That being said, i would not buy another one, simply because I don't care for 9mm that much, especially in a gun this size. If I am going to carry a gun the size of a beretta, it will have .45acp stamped on it somewhere or another.

As far as reliability goes they are great. Accuracy, for what it is, it is not bad. Size is the big problem. It fits my hand great, but it carries like hell. It is, however, one of the nicest looking guns out there in my opinion. If I ever bought another one it would be the inox version, simply because I think having one in stainless would be pretty neat.

The best thing I can say is that they are smooth and accurate.

But, They are much bigger than a 9 or 40 should be. The trigger reach and large grip are too much for a lot of people to deal with. And the worst part, the double action/single action trigger.

They aren't bad, but there are certainly more optimal pistols on the market.

I like mine. I do not shoot it as often as my other guns, however I used it to hunt rabbits with last wintered, it is very accurate. However I do agree that they are on the large side, parts are readily availble and extra magazines are relatively inexpensive. I would shop around for magazines, as I have not had much luck with some aftermarket magazines such as Pro-mag.

I have a Beretta 92fs INOX and it's very nice. I've fired close to a thousand rounds through it in the last year or so and have no had a single jam or issue. It's a larger pistol for the caliber (9mm). As for mags I don't know because I only use the two 15-round mags that come with the gun.

It's easy to shoot, though it does have a long trigger pull, and it is simple to take apart and clean.

Some people don't like the plastic guide rod, but it's been fine for me as it's not a load bearing part.

Beretta M-9/M-92 is the best combat pistol on the planet IMO :D: Have shot 1000s and 1000s of rounds through them both in the military and as a civi and have never had a malfunction.... I wish they still made the Centurion though as I prefer it to the full size, again IMO
As to the 9mm, ball ammo can be erratic in stopping power but good +p or +p+ ammo like the Winchester Ranger or Rem GoldenSaber is the equal of any 40 or 45.
A Beretta saved my life in 2002, I would depend on it to do the same in any situation on any day :thumb:

fantastic gun, I love mine. I have a glock a ruger sr9 and the beretta and to be honest the beretta is just awesome. love the trigger, the slide is like its on ball bearings, and it is reliable and accurate. It is heavier than the other two, but it is not a issue for me personally but some people do have a issue with the weight, what i do find funny though is people will say it is too heavy, but it is about the same weight as a cz75 or a sig226 yet i do not hear people make the same comments about these guns. I think it gets a bit of a bad rap the same way haters do with the glock.

Feels better than most other 9mm's if you have bigger hands.

Got the 92fs in 9mm. Love it. Very very accurate. Buy beretta made mags and you are fine. I've seen the knock offs rust and they just feel cheap.

Only reason I wouldn't suggest it is if you have tiny hands. The reach to the trigger in double action is longer than most pistols.

Also, spend the $15-$20 on the Hogue grip. You'll be very happy

If you've already fired one and you liked it then you cannot go wrong with a Beretta 92FS.

They will eventually be discontinued for the 92A1 which will be renamed some time in the future.

I love the 92s - been shooting them a long long time beginning in Italy in late '83 and again in '84 and '85, and I own several still today.

You may want to join us over at the Beretta forums if you are really interested in investing in a 92FS, etc.

Here is some good info on the 92A1:
