Episode 4

There isn't much new to say about this one. The gang broke into a plague quarantine area to find a doctor. It didn't go well.

The were plenty more missed opportunities. They were asking a new friend for guns, but yet they would refuse to scavenge them off of fallen enemies. The LAV they left behind ended up biting them in the butt at the end. They did manage to ditch the annoying hippy sister which should make their travels more enjoyable.

I may have misheard, but did the dad say that the front drive axle was broken on the RV? That thing didn't look like it would have one of those. At least he fixed in time to pick up the bitchy daughter just as she was coming out of the woods. Girl knows how to use what she's got and that is actually a good survival skill.

They did not say front drive axle, just drive axle. That isn't what I would call a drive shaft. Also if the drive shaft came out, he damned well would need parts. Either the tail of the transmission broke off, no tranny fluid on ground so unlikely, or the caps holding the drive shaft to the rear axle broke and or he lost his needle bearings to 1 or more U-Joints. It doesn't just "pop out".
Now if the meant "drive axle" that is the rear axle, and that won't just pop loose either. At a minimum, the shackle bolts for the springs and the rear shocks would have to be replaced. They need better writers/consultants.

Quick question. If forced to watch one or the other which would it be? Aftermath or Fear the Walking Dead?

I'm going to have to say..... Aftermath.
Hands down, no question

I've watched every episode so far. As embarrassing as it is, I am a glutton for "Syfy" brand punishment.

- Apocalypse show with biblical / supernatural leanings.
- I am so confused about this flying beast. Is it a dragon? A demon?
- For Syfy, the acting is pretty good. The one daughter that refused to shoot a gun is a horrible actress, as are some of the Amish.
- Anne Hache & James Tupper have been an item for years so they work well together.

It's a tired and old premise. It's written poorly but saved by a few better actors. The CGI is hilarious.

All that said, I bet it gets a second season. Syfy already renewed VanHelsing which is a terrible TV show that somehow pulls good ratings in the US, Canada and Mexico markets. That's what people forget about Syfy... they have their hooks into Canadian media and look to save money by splitting production costs.

Aftermath... I'll tune in until Nov15. Then college basketball starts and I'll forget it.
