As with most other calibers what with all the panic buying. 30/30 30.06 .308 ,,, the list keeps going. Manufacturers are working overtime to get as much to the stores, but as soon as it hits the shelves it is gone.

 

I saw a lot at the D i c k's in Huntington WV last week. Bought 10 boxes and there were still plenty left.

 

Yea walmarts around here are pretty much cleaned out. The local place I seem to remember them being out of 30-30 to. I bought a decent supply not long ago plus some brass.

Haven't been to any of the bigger places further away to see what they have.

 

In St. Louis and Green Bay they never once ran out of 30/30 or 30-06 some place like g.b. never even ran out of 22lr.

 

I'm from Green Bay. We haven't ran completly out, but Fleet Farm has been out of the bulk .22 for quite awhile. It's hit or miss for the most part. You can get most calibers if your willing to buy the more expensive Horaday etc. Proboboly still better than most areas.

Last time I was there they even had a AR for $999 in stock.

 

I just started seeing issues with 30-30 and 30-06. I guess the fact that none of the other ammo was getting restocked got people worried enough to start buying the hunting calibers as well,

 

No problems here with 30-30 , where do you live fhhunt ?

 

Every time I got to Wally world there is at least 270 and 30/30s and I always pick up a couple boxes.

Wal-mart here only has some 270, a box or 2 of 30-06, and some 7mm stuff. They had a couple boxes of 45 colt, the overpriced defense stuff in 20rd boxes. Not a single box of anything else. Only 22LR is the shot shell stuff.

 

There are still several hundred rounds of 270, 30-30, and 30-06 around here. At nearly all retailers (bigboxes), at LGS less so.....but still around. This includes WM,DSG,GM....

My one buddy wants one and I will be informing him to FIRST buy the AMMO, THEN the gun........

 

I agree no 30 30 or 9mm or .22lr. They have 270, 30 06 .40.

 

Just bought a box of 100 30/30 150 gr. projectiles for $18.00 dollars from Budget Shooters Supply.

Around me seems everything is scarce except, 30-06, 270, @ 20 gauge.

 

30-30 is gone just about everywhere here except for one store that is asking 29.99 a box for Winchester power points. Still have the shelf full prob will be for a little while

 

payed 50 dollars for 40 round of 30-30 on Saturday.

 

I've seen it at several places online for about $15 per box, and lots of places for $17. I saw it at a store the other day for $16 per box.

.30-30 is around, but if that was my only gun I'd be buying as much as I could.

 

Ours has plenty of 30-30 and 30-06. Which are probably the most common caliber in these parts.

 

Bass Pro had about 6 boxes of Remington 170 grn 30/30 today for 23.99. Couple monthes ago it was 17.99 a box of 20. I didn't need it that much so I passed.

 

We've been out at the Dundee Cabela's for a while. Still got a tiny bit of reloading supplies for .30-30.

 

I spent about $5 more for the last box of Lever Revolution my LGS had in 30-30.

 

Just about everything is hit or miss at this point. However, the ammo that so many people seem to think will always be available and common (5.56/.223, .308, 22LR, 9mm) simply can not be found. I've always found exception to that. I honestly thought it was a load of bologne. What can actually be found right now is the more uncommon stuff. 45LC, 7mm-08. Things of that nature. The great 30-06 is fairly easy to find. I remember there being countless threads recommending 308 over 30-06 because 30-06 will be harder to find in an emergency. Well that couldn't be further from the truth. I can still easily find 30-30 ammo. I just bought a whole bunch a few weeks ago.

 

Here in Central Alabama, I haven't seen any .30-30 available since the panic buying set in. I can still find a little .30-06, but its getting scarce. .270, 25-06, .243, and some others can easily be found.

For handgun calibers, .45 Colt and 10mm are still easy to find. Everything else has gotten hard, if not impossible, to get.

I've been foolin' around with guns since 1980. Never in my lifetime has ammo been this hard to find.

 

Still ALOT around here and BIG pile of it. $17 for 20 rounds. Remmy

 

no shortage around here. plenty of lead.
