I came up with mine because people couldn't figure out if I was a guy or a gal.
They still get confused by it. I thought the pink framed ladies room sign was a shoe in... not so much it seems.

My avatar reflects my lifelong curiosity of people. I am retired and now have the time to reflect on my life, how things are shaping up, and where I think we are going. I have always been a problem solver and thinker but now I have the luxury to really analyze things... without having anything on the line. I am happily on cruise control, off the treadmill, and I am now a passenger on the train speeding down the track to nowhere. :

I used this one below for a long time because I was going through a very dark time in my life. Part of that dark period was discovering the tyranny within this country. You see, I had bought into the propaganda of the GOP hook, line and sinker and discovering they are every bit as corrupt as the Dems (read Communists) was like losing my best friend because I had always expected to change the course the country was on with our knights in shining armor, who would come riding to our defense and restore justice just in the nick of time.
You see, I had become a vegetable, loosing my ability for critical thought by watching the propaganda mill of Fox News. Lol, Fox News was another best friend that had a razor sharp knife behind their back going for the jugular and the game was/IS, keeping the conservative masses fast asleep while the prize of their liberty, wealth, freedom and very sovereignty is being stolen right before their dulled eyes.
Another good friend had to be set aside and one so close that through the most challenging times in my life, I had turned to them for strength, wisdom and guidance, and seeing the tyranny and social engineering within man made religion was yet another mask that had to be torn away.
Coming to terms with all these betrayals (and others) left me no foundation so I was forced to begin anew and rebuild a foundation that I could believe in 'whilst' using my God given critical thinking skills I found barely lurking (drowning really) in the murk of all the lies, propaganda and indoctrination.

Now that I am on a more solid base, having found my reality (trust none without evidence) and my voice, I have my current avatar which signifies that though I may appear feminine, small and frail....... I am ready, willing and able to defend my beliefs, myself and those in my care.

Mine is because the vast majority of this country lack any critical thinking skills and instead buy into whatever they are told. This forum is a breath of fresh air in general but there are still some people who just about give me a stroke with their grammar and lack of sentence structure :
