In the streets of Greece, arguably the biggest protest in years is now descending into violence.
Wow...wishing harm to someone doing their duty...you think these cops want to be there?? They just want to keep their jobs like the rest of us working stiffs...out of touch guys like you will be the first to parish when the SHTF...You'd hope so!! Those police are nothing more than hired thugs, supporting the corrupt politicians, who are in turn puppets of the greedy international bankers.
These bankers are the ones responsible for world markets crashing.
You reap what you sow!
I guess that's a no on the money bet?i will bump this thread after x-mas, when no collapsed has happened....just so everyone here can see what a sentationlist fear mongerer you are.
You mighht have to bump it for them, The honor systemI guess that's a no on the money bet?
If you're still in Greece in the New Year, you might not have power and/or internet to bump this thread.
Greek financial reform insufficient-Situation extreme
Guess what this means pumpkin, especially to those people on the streets ? It means no hope and what do people without hope do?
I'll pay their airfare! They vote Democrat...................or at least here they do.
Maybe we should give them Obama, Pelosi, and Reid to solve their problems with a hand out or two.
When about half of the country lives in Athens, better think twice...Ignorance, you're in it!
i live here, how are you going to tell me otherwise?
What is happening in athens, in respect to the rioting, doesnt reflect the entire country. A few thousand even 10's of thousands of people, dont reflect the entire populace of a country.
We just had a peaceful demonstration here in pirgos a few days ago. No tear gas, no broken bottles, no injuries......Imagine that.
You see the news headlines "greece in choas" "greece plagued by rioting" "GREECE SHTF!!!!!!!!" You are dumb enough to buy into the crap. While the rest of the country is doing no such thing.
you may return to your ignorant place now.
It's not that the government just shuts down in August, they celebrate the second biggest holiday in Greece aside from Easter and that is the Annuciation of the Virgin Mary on August 15th...not really, i just spent 6 weeks there again this year, and i do so every year. syntagma square is where "riots" are allowed. the first week i was there the taxi cab drivers were "rioting", the last week i was there the dentists were "rioting". he's right....it's nothing new.
it makes GREAT headlines, but do you really believe that 200 riot police could contain " over 100,000 rioters"......honestly? they're throwing water bottles, screaming, and pushing over bicycle racks being used as barricades. some of the unrest has spread to the monasteraiki area, which is the tourist shopping area. there HAS been some looting there, which is a first....however the tourist season is over in Sept. most of the looting seems to be opportunistic and not part of an organized protest like the syntagma square situation.
i know you're buying into what you're seeing and reading, but it's not happening anywhere else in Greece than syntagma square and surrounding area. The only other disruption is trash is not being picked up in Athens. you klnow why this didn't pick back up until September and October? Because the entire govt (and all office buildings) shuts down for the month of August. all the workers get rested up in the country so they can come back to work and be full of rage.
I will make you a money bet that the Greek government collapses by Xmas (possibly sooner)..
i will bump this thread after x-mas, when no collapsed has happened....just so everyone here can see what a sentationlist fear mongerer you are.

So am I. Greece is just a little farther along than we are.Man did that happen fast, just all coming down.....
Im taking this as a good learning example of what could go down here in the US
Unlikely to happen here since we aren't hamstrung by other countries printing our money. The Euro was bad news from the start. Surprise, surprise the countries who can print the Euro have the healthiest economies.Man did that happen fast, just all coming down.....

Actually it could happen, all the world has to do use another form of curancey over the Dollar and then YES we are done for. Plus we have money on the line as well in the EU.Unlikely to happen here since we aren't hamstrung by other countries printing our money. The Euro was bad news from the start. Brits may have their own issues, but at least they were smart enough to steer clear of that.
