I have being doing a lot of research as of late into historical situations where people were driven to great lengths to survive in urban environments.
Namely, the siege of Stalingrad and the city of Berlin during WW2, and Kosovo in the 90s.
In all situations, there are instances of desperation and situations where people were forced to their "family pets." I'm not talking about livestock, or even farm animals.
Think about it. You are stuck in or in a very close proximity to your home, and even the rats seem to have disappeared. You know you are starving.
It's a tough call, but in the last 100 years, thousands of people have been forced to make it.
I honestly don't know if I could. I haven't been desperate yet,and desperation changes things.
