Terminator came out long before that. I believe it was somewhere in the mid-1980s.

I had completely forgotten this movie until I came across this thread, I watched this movie when it was on NBC in 1999. I dont remember much of it, what i do recall is that some "crazy" had a chain link fence around his sandbag covered house house and starts shooting at people if they stop in front of his house, and that a nuclear power plant reactor goes critical. Usual network tv movie cheese. but enjoyable to a 15 yr old at the time.
