I've possessed a PA LTCF since turning 21 in the '80's. I carried occasionally in the 90's - mostly a 357 revolver- but have carried with near religious fervor since 2005. I've tried both autos and revolvers- HK P7 (too expensive), PPK, S&W 380 bodyguard (meh... too small and 380), 1911 (too heavy and big for CCW), Masada (see 1911), PPS M2, Taurus Poly 357 (crappy front sight design), SP101, and a 642 J frame. Today, like yesterday (and last week, and the week before, and ........) I'm carrying the J frame.

I appreciate all of these handguns- although, I sold both the Bodyguard and the Taurus Poly Protector- but I keep coming back to the small revolver for CCW.

I find the XD-S Mod. 2 in .45 appealing. What is your opinion of the handgun? Keep in mind that I work at small family owned business in an office setting. We are B2B, so there isn't a regular run of retail and no 'front desk' to speak of for the local population to visit. I prefer IWB appendix carry, but have carried most of the autos strong side hip.

I like the idea of a smaller framed handgun in .45 ACP. I did like the PPS M2 (9 mm), but lost that to my adult daughter two years ago.

Does anyone have a similar experience? What are your thoughts and opinions of the XD-S in .45 ACP?

I don’t see the value of 45 ACP in that small gun.
The XDS is not a bad gun. But for AIWB I’d get the XDE in 9mm instead. Same gun , but hammer fired and a DA at trigger pull to keep your junk safe.

of course the walther PPS m2 is my edc so I picked it over the others. But I carry OWB

I have shot and carried a xds 45 for more than 10 years. I use a desantis iwb holster. Since it has a grip and trigger safety a hammer for it to be “safe” is silly. Unless you pull the trigger on the gun out of the holster which is bad training to begin with. I like shooting the 200 grain xtp with 6.2 grains of power pistol (iirc). I have been in many settings where no one has ever known I was carrying including a trampoline park (and jumping), playing basketball, and wearing a suit. I have not yet had a failure to fire or feed or any other issues. It goes bang on every trigger pull (if the round/primer wasn’t a dud which I have had two). The Springfield line fits my hand better than Glock.
