Hey everyone. I am wondering who would join a priviate/secret society?
Base goals: Support and spread Christian beliefs; Support countries maintaining there sovereignty; support a financial responsible government.
The "order" whatever name. Would have enough wealth and businesses to manage all members expenses. Mortgage bills education and healthcare for all members, spouses and children. All member must have one family member working a full time job and both husband and wife will have to join. The member Will have to have 100% of take home pay going into account of said society and will recieve there allowance monthly to maintain a social life. There will be accounts to provide all necessary provisions a family would need to live a more then comfortable life. Food cars survival gear guns ammo and a two week vacation. The "order" would be dealing with mostly growing the passive income with the the contributuons of member.

Any ideas this?

I'm not much on communes.

Also I have a part time job (vending) and a full time job (caregiver).

Besides, who has any money these days? I am trying to figure out how to buy a new can opener!

I would definitely consider joining a private society but what you describe is not appealing to me. It sounds like you want to control my life.

You want me to give you all of my take home pay and you will allow me a two two week vacation? How amazingly generous of you.

I would be more interested in the organization owing a gun shop and selling to me at cost. Or o restaurant that's had a privately dining room for the owners.

PROSPERITY ENGINE
>>>|||||<<<
Regardless of ideology, prosperity is based on prodigious production of surplus usable goods and services, equitably traded, and enjoyed. Doing more with less so more can enjoy is superior to doing less with more so few can enjoy.

Productive people who use their labor augmented by machines to transform resources into goods and services are the engine of prosperity.

They are opposed by the “friction” - the “drag” caused by countless parasites, predators, and plunderers who skim a portion of that production without offering anything of equitable value in trade.

Sources of "friction"
[] Money madness
[] Usury
[] Insurance
[] Government / Protection
[] Socialism / Collectivism
[] Unions
[] Crime, organized and disorganized

I can't think of any "private society" that would enhance prosperity beyond that already enjoyed by a prosperous extended family that cares for its own. In other words, I would be more than happy to be part of an extended family, by blood, adoption or marriage, that supports group prosperity.

I suspect that any "private society" is already infested with parasites who have set themselves up to enjoy prosperity at the expense of others.

I think I have for decades been living in a secret society, yet it never really occurred to me. I live in a long valley in remote/rural Alaska with nine other humans. We pay little if any taxes, we help each other, but would only stoop to asking for help if it was very serious need.

My nearest neighbor we have only encountered each other once in the twenty-two years we both have lived in this valley, and that was because my flock of geese decided her grass was greener, and would I please come herd them home, when it was convenient, not urgent. We most all live some level of subsistence lifestyle, with abundant fish and game everywhere.

Everyone has their own shooting range, but it is appreciated that they are not used between 9:pM and 7:AM. The key to harmony in a society, is everyone has abundant space, and food and water are abundant for the harvesting. The failure for most human societies is the need to live elbow to elbow while competing for resources.

In my humble opinion, 90% of what you described sounds like a cult or "communism". What happens if a member does not comply? Retirement? Does that concept exist? Do they get kicked out? How is the "secrecy" maintained if folks bail or are kicked out. What if they break secrecy?

It is idealistic. a fanticy
I lived in commune before and it can be liberating but only single people doing this. not co/ed .
Couples have a lot to deal with getting to know one another, throw other people in the mix and you open the door for greater problems. Throw children in the mix and it doubles again. add some one sick or injured or mentally disturbed and ..............
In a post apocoliptic event that is something different, people act differently in sevire need, people expect to make sacrifices, but only as long as th sevirety of the event continues. I know familes that do this , even people that are only good friends, but only for a short time.

Everybody throws their money into one pot and that pot is able to provide "all necessary provisions a family would need to live a more then comfortable life." Seems like you need to limit membership to high earners.

It won't work. If I knew that I could have a comfortable life no matter what my income was, I'd switch to a no-responsibility job working 40 hours for minimum wage. I'd never work a weekend, never be on call, never take work home, never get a midnight emergency phone call, never have to make a decision at work other than whether to flip the burger left to right or right to left.

And when my shift was done I'd be DONE. And so would everyone else in the commune. Money would dry up and everyone would be hungry. THIS is why communism never works.

This would be for a small group of families. It would have to be geared to at tripple your monthly after bills income. For me that's $3 though
