Thank you Browneyegirl for posting this! I think it deserves to be put in a place where men can comment and pass it on also!

-Burglar with multiple arrests breaks into her home
-She takes her twins and hides in the attic
-He finds them, she shoots him 5 times with a revolver (1 miss i guess)
-She runs to call the police
-He gets up, drives away and crashes where the cops catch him

THIS does not get on the news. THIS is why semi-autos are important.

Great piece of reporting also.

Thank you Browneyegirl for posting it.

Yes more shots. If she had more shots she would have more effectively stopped the invader. Instead he was able to get up and drive away. Lucky for her he didn't further his attack.

As far as larger caliber, some people can not handle that and effectively aim, ESPECIALLY in stressful situations.

Shot 5 times and still is able to get up and drive away? Why would anyone NEED a magazine capable of holding more than 10 rounds? Why does anyone who isn't a police officer NEED a handgun? This crap is why. Now imagine if there were two of those f***heads. She'd probably be raped and killed and god knows what would happen to her children.

Deputies arrested 32-year-old Atlanta resident Paul Slater in connection with the crime. Chapman said they found him on the ground saying, "Help me. I'm close to dying."

Surely those deputies could have dragged it out a bit and gone for a coffee and Danish - would have been a more profitable use of their time.

Hopefully the lesson learned is .38s don't really cut it and she'll step up to .357 or .44 magnum for future use.

Glad to see another piece of human sh*t take a few rounds. Good on that woman for having the courage to defend herself and her children. :thumb:

Think this is over?

His homies are going to do slow roll bys of that house. He'll be getting excellent medical attention. They've already moved it down to burglary instead of home invasion despite the face he moved in on her and the children. They'll plea it down further. He'll accept the plea, get two years, four months and serve perhaps under a bullet (a year and a day) and he'll do a payback when she isn't expecting it.

Don't give your woman a revolver.

Give her something with some rounds.

"My woman" now packs a Kimber Ultra Carry .45 just like mine , because it is the best power/size ratio. However, she qualified 241/250 on her first CHL with a S&W .357. She just doesn't like the bulk of the revolver. She can handle either weapon with equal skill. Six .357 or eight .45, a punk is gonna get just as dead. It's all about mind-set, training and lots of practice.

Did some of you people not catch the part where the creep had "punctured lungs and a perforated liver and 4 exit wounds"? What else do you think a bigger gun would have done. He was shot up pretty bad and on the road to eternity. Its a shame help got there so quick.

Even game animals shot with high power deer rifles sometimes run off and survive horrible wounds only to die at a later time.

In my book this woman is a hero to be praised for what she did. And I am willing to bet that SOB doesn't ever want to come face to face with her and her 38 ever again.

And there was nothing "superficial" about his wounds.
