:D:I spent yesterday, January 1st 2014 skiing in powder up to my knees!:D:
What an absolutely wonderful way to start the new year. I realize many in the US consider our current temperatures and weather pattern some sort of "disaster", we here in Wyoming do not. It happens every year here and most of us look forward to it. My understanding is that much of the rest of the nation is also getting some pretty cold and snowy weather too.

So? The mountains have been getting hammered for several days now with a serious dump! I just love the snow!:D::D:
I plan to spend the weekend skiing and will get some photos up for all of you here soon.

Welcome to Wyoming.:D:

Every year people here in New England freak out and panic over snow and cold. Hello, we're in NEW ENGLAND, we get this every year. If you're not prepared for this type of thing, I am scared for you when an actual (natural or unnatural) disaster strikes.

Mountains are getting a little again today here in Maine, going to be a good weekend up at the Loaf. Nothing like what y'all are getting out in JHole. 13 feet and counting, man that's gotta make the Air Force happy!
I am thankful for the freezing temperatures here in s. Oregon. This freezing weather will kill the germs that have accumulated in the ground/air/animals/insects and fowl. With out this cold freezing weather we might have the flu problems that are happening mainly in the southern parts of the US.

Many of the hunters here are happy that the tics are getting killed.

surprisingly I think we're getting less and less snow every year. I use to hate snow but now I'd actually like to get quite a bit.

No thread Hijack intended.
Winter in Wyo is serious business. When it gets cold here in Nevada, I just remind people that it is "a nice spring day in Wyoming." Urban people complain all the time about the cold. Rural people say things like " I enjoy the challenge."
