A few days ago I picked up a brick of Winchester 22 long rifle ammo. The brick either has 333 or 330 rounds in it.

Has anyone used this Winchester 22 long rifle ammo before? If so, what did you shoot it from, how reliable was it and was it accurate?

I just finished a Winchester brick of 330 - I had no problems with it at all. Ruger 10/22 and Marlin 22 plus my trusty 1942 Sears single shot. All of the ate it up. Accuracy was ok had a few flyers but that was probably operator induced as it was only in the 30's/40's this weekend. It was the only thing left at my local Wallyworld as the 500 brick Remington was all gone as was every common handgun round and most of the common rifle rounds.

I have some of the winchester cheap stuff (cant think of the name) it is something like $12.00 for a box of 500. It works fine in the 10/22 and in a tube fed 22 I have. It is fine for target shooting, but I don't think I would hunt with it just because it seems a little bit underpowered compared to some of the other 22 ammo I have used.

It is not the most accurate ammo I have, but it is fine to plink with.

I also have some more expensive winchester super x ammo (around 29.99 for 500) and it is good ammo in terms of accuracy and reliability.

I've used Winchester X-pert .22LR in my 10/22. No feeding, firing, or cycling issue, but accuracy wasn't great. A few fliers, but within 8 inches at 100 yards. (22 inch barrel btw).

Ive never had problems with windchester ammo and its all I buy... only had maby 4 defective rounds and that was the gun bent them because it didnt feed 1 was missing the top part (lead) that was the cheaper windchester ammo but I usally shoot windchester 500 pack for 16 bucks thats lead hollow points.. aim not it works not the best but works fine hits the target well.. the more exensive steel jacketed ones are much better but for plinking dont need to get it really.. I use a windchester model 63 did 20,000 rounds throught it and ruger 10/22 at 1000 rounds through it (thats frsit time I took it out)

what's the packaging type for that box? I don't recall seeing one available locally in that size. Generally, I only see bulk packs of Federal, Winchester, and Remington in the 500/550 boxes.

Usually use winchester xpert in the 500+ pack from wally world. Some feed and cycling issues, not many. Accuracy could be better, but when I'm looking for that I switch the to the winchester dynapoint. 40 grain opposed to 36 and seem to fly better.

I used the super X 22lr in my 10/22 before. I don't recall having any FTF's with it. I was using it to hunt squirrel and rabbit. I found it to be better than Rem Thunderbolt. The stuff I used was copper jacketed, is that what you have?

Those are bulk packs. Bricks are 10 boxes of 50, packaged together. I've been buying them & setting them aside for some time now.

kev i have bought some of the same ammo its winch. 333 rds the only thing is its 36gr. it shoots good in all of my 22s 10/22 m60 and 22/45 bought 4 bricks today.

the x-pert 22lr wont feed smooth and wont extract at all from my nylon 11 bolt action. all semi autos i have it worx as good as anything else. i had to punch the casees out with a cleaning rod.

So far, we have had good results from the WIN 333 bulk packs. About 4 bulk packs down range so far and not a single dud between 3 10-22's, and a few different handguns. Accuracy is very decent ( at least shooting thru my 10-22), and on par with how the FED 550 bulk packs print thru this paticular 10-22. Your milage might vary with your rifles however, but I think it would be worth a couple bulk packs of WIN 333 to find out. I havent had the chance to hunt with any yet, so I cant say how this loads performs on a critter at present time
