Let get serious here. For what real practical reason would you need a folding stock. The only people in the military who have needs for folding stocks are Paratroopers and Troops in Armored Vehicles. And the stock gets unfolded as soon as the rifle is out. Why are there so many rifles with folding stocks. I would like to hear some good reasons why you might need/want one.

For storage convenience, I have limited space I’m my BOV with all the other gear and family members. It’s also for easier maneuvering in and out of the vehicle. I’ve used both extensively and prefer the folder. With a folding stock, I can hide the rifle under a jacket or in a backpack. It is easier to retrieve QUICKLY from a vehicle and the quality ones are just as strong, if not stronger, than some of the fixed counterparts.
I see a lot of cheepo folders like the tapco or other cheep plastic knock-offs, to those I say don’t waste the money or time.
So i guess in short, for the same reason the mil. has them...

i think my next project is going to be a suschka(krinkov)...MMMmmm...suppressed SBR'd AK's with a folder is just damn sexy.

A folding stock could be as useful in an unarmored vehicle as an armored one. You can also put a folding stock rifle in a more discreet case than a full length rifle. Or, judging by a lot of what I've actually seen them used for, you could use it to temporarily make your rifle into an excessively long pistol that you miss things with, an option I would choose to avoid.

Really did you think any of this out at all? It's like turning your weapon sideways. Contrary to popular belief a little off vertecal is normal and can benifit someones shooting when they need the other hand.

Same here....Just because people went over the top doesn't mean it doesn't have its benifits.

Any vehicle, move that M-4 around in a vehicle as a driver and you will see why a piston driven M-4 with a good folder is the cat's ---.

Anyone who has to crawl or get into confined spaces. Go explore a abandoned building with two sticks one the length of a weapon, and one with a folded length of a AK.

Thats to name a few reasons, and you shouldn't knock something just because, there is generally a good reason someone made something, sometimes its a niche use, but still.

My jeep is small, hell I have a folding rifle. Fold it up and it stores in a backpack on my roll bars overhead....it's a nice option.

I would consider a AK underfolder but I think I want an AK pistol instead.

I can take a AK underfolder and just lay it between the seats of my jeep, my M4 fake goes from the rear ledge up past the shifter boot in the same spot.

Storage, room clearing, concealment.. all sorts of reasons. I'd much rather carry an AK-74M on my side with it's stock folded, rather than a full stock. Less **** to bump in to.

I am so confused....

I like folding stocks (or a folding weapon like the Sub 2k) on just about every rifle I own. The only exception is my Remington 870 because the wood stock is lighter than most folding stocks.

But seriously, having a folding stock really increases the portability options and makes going to the range a WHOLE lot easier.
