For example, religion has been responsible for the deaths of far more people than have civilian firearms so I propose:
1) People wanting to open a new church must undergo a background check. Anyone convicted of a felony or any fraud charge would be denied the ability to open or pastor a church. Note that some Christian pastors seem to be particularly proficient in fleecing their flock (like that dude in Atlanta that flew around in a G650 airplane), hence the concern over fraud.
2) Some religions such as Islam and Roman Catholicism are so dangerous they should be banned outright.
3) All churches should require a permit by a government agency.
4) Carrying a religion's holy book should require a carry license.

Journalism is a danger to this country too. Historically, the media was responsible for at least one war (Spanish-American), and now the media sways public opinion with fake news.
1) All media outlets should be licensed by the government.
2) Reporters and the talking heads must undergo a background check. Any person who has knowingly created a fake news report should be prohibited from working in the media.
3) Apply red flag laws to the media. If a person close to the media outlet or if the police suspect the outlet will issue fake news stories in the near future then that person or the police should be able to appear before a judge to obtain an injunction preventing the publication of the news story.

These suggestions are partially tongue in cheek but if 2nd Amendment rights are denied Americans the people need to understand that other rights can be denied them.

I don't like the far Left Communists

I don't like the far right Religious nutcases

Both want to take away rights and oppress whoever they don't like.

Stupid people

I just can't wrap my head around the logic of restricting the rights of a group of people while another group enjoys those rights.

Look at our stupid legal system, once you are a felon, even though you did your time and paid the penalty, you still have no rights.

Violent felons should be killed or kept in prison.

I'm sure some ******* will come in here and whine just because they feel the need to be contrary.

Once the 2nd Amendment is gone

There will be nothing to prevent the left from taking the rest of your Rights

The 2nd Amendment was put in place to protect the entire Bill of Rights

The Socialists/Communists can only impose their will on an unarmed populace

FL will allow felon restoration of rights, when time served is complete and full restitution, court costs and fees are paid. That seems completely fair. Why would we want victims to see felons get rights restored, without being 100% compensated for their losses?

We should register guns like cars and airplanes? We should then license churches and register bibles??? (same thought)

We should register guns to stop crime? There is no crime fighting component to gun registration. It is a violation of a criminals 5th amendment rights of self incrimination to register his guns. It's actually illegal to register a criminal's gun!!! If we could legally do this, we'd simply go around and arrest all the criminal gun owners...

Furthermore 300,000,000 guns registered to 150,000,000 people, 70,000 of them who move every day, would require a HUGE bureaucracy. Anything not on the list, or on the list improperly is an opportunity for felony arrest!

So the whole thing about registration comes down to when a gun is lost, we can return it to his rightful owner? That's the bottom line.

Beyond things like the inability to yell, "fire!" in a crowded theater what are the limitations you speak of?
Great example, because yelling "fire" is not illegal in any way, despite the left's argument that it is. The law says that if your speech creates a clear and present danger, the first amendment will not protect you from the consequences of your actions.

There are innumerable examples where someone speaks the words that lead to disaster. The 1st never protects them from their evil actions. This is particularly true when working around machinery.

LOL, gotta love trolls. They been coming out of the woodwork lately....gee, what a cooincidence!

Interesting that when the first United States administration got done congratulating themselves for whippin' them redcoats and creating a brand-spankin'-new Nation, they suddenly realized they forgot a few things.
Freedom of religion, speech, the press, peaceably assemble, petition the government for redress of grievances. Right to keep & bear arms. Not quartering soldiers in private homes during times of peace, search & seizure, right of due process....Whatdyaknow, they just sat down and started with amendments on the most important things right off? Or would they start with the least important?

Oh, but we have to have "reasonable" restrictions. "Common sense". **** that ****. **** that. We have been reasonabled to death. Got us to where we are right ****in' now. We can point to what's been going on in D ****in C the last three years, in Virginia, California, Washington and the list goes on.

NONE of those gun laws do **** to anyone but law-abiding citizens. Crime has never been affected by any of them. That was never their purpose. Controlling US. THAT was/is their purpose.

Restrictions on free speech. Currently it appears to be "fake news" "fake political content" and my favorite "hate speech". Those are all ways to restrict content "they" do not like. Censorship is what it is. Screw that.

Anyone ever seen or been in a criminal trial? Well, let me make this short and direct. The STATE has all the cards. Just ask people like Randy Weaver, Lavoy Fincum's next-of-kin, Bundy & family, Ray Krone what they think of our "justice" system and its "protections". Still want reasonable?

Constitutional Republic.
Fifty one people telling forty nine people what-for isn't democracy. Read the Declaration of Independence "Government derives its just powers from the consent of the governed". See what the elected peoples of California, Washington, Oregon, Colorado, VIRGINIA are shoving down people's throats? Seems to me there's a HELL of a lot of people in one State that ain't too happy about that and the government refuses to listen. Is doing everything they can NOT to listen. Shove your reasonable. That ship's sailed my friends.

That's a myth. There has never been a restriction against yelling "Fire!" in a crowded theater. It's just that if you do, and there's no fire, you are criminally and civilly liable for the natural consequences.
