I have been accumulating toilet paper rolls and stuffing them with dryer lint but I have no idea why. Please, no smartass answers. Where did I get this and what would make them more efficient or how do I build them the best? I am sure it is for fire starting, but like in a BOB? For camping? For home use? What are their use and what is the proper way to construct them?

Dryer lint, fill m with melted wax. When they harden cut into discs n u got fire starters

It really serves no purpose, you can do the wax thing but there's really no need. So many other things work just as good or better. You can get 16 of those little disc candles from the dollar store for a buck. They will burn for an hour. Once you put the wax on the lint it will no longer will take a spark like the dry lint will do on its own, so its assumed that you'll have a lighter or another way to make a flame before you get these lit.

The TP roll serves no purpose in this equation. Just put the lint in a ziplock back to keep it dry. If you want wax, then get a candle. Strike the lint with your sparker to get the flame, then light the candle and set it under your fire until it eventually catches. Besides, if you really needed something long burning like that then you might want to just get some firestarting sticks/logs.

good seed starters , TP tubes,, use them whole or cut em in two ,, half fill them with potting soil and a seed,

and you can poke em down 1/2 way right in a hole poked in the garden,, the cardboard that is abouve the soil level (inside and outside) will deter cut worms from killing the stems

So, take the lint out and save it. Add some tealights. Regardless, it was just one of many methods I would use however I think where I got this was starting a campfire, no so much survival technique. I think...

I save mine and when I get about ten of them I go out and get a fist full of dried twigs and put them inside for mini fire bundles. As you set the cardboard on fire it creates a ring of fire and sets the twigs on fire and gives you a basic flame to start your fire with. You can do many things like line the inside with Vaseline, coat the outside with bees wax or what have you but they are nice to have to put twigs in that stick out of both ends to make mini fire bundles to get things going in a nip mate.
