I just picked one up at REI

Can't remember the model but it was only $30 and it works great, gets great radio reception, has a real bright LED light and a cell phone charger. Oh yea its real small too, perfect for the BOB.....

I buy recycled solar cells and hook them up in parallel or series to do what I want them to do. A $5 solar cell will charge and run a small radio.

What EXACTLY are you wanting to do?

I don't recommend a combo approach.

You can purchase individual components that FAR exceed something in a combo box.

I'd get a high quality lamp.
I'd get high quality rechargeable cells for that lamp.
I'd get a good 12V PV panel.
I'd get a good programable Hobby auto charger with 12V input.

And, I'd get as many radios as possible.


I don't know how I could narrow this all down into one package.

Thats really nice of you, next xmas i will beginn ONLY to give survival gifts for my friends and family, just started with little minikit to my brother this year...he is the only one who can see something coming.
