Okay y'all, what hat do you guys (and gals) like to wear? Ball cap, straw hat, turban, dew rag, Stetson, etc.?

I wear a variety of hats, from ball caps, to a wool cowboy hat, to a straw hat, toboggan in the winter, flat caps, etc.

Hard hat at work, daily. Extra wide brim.

Stock cap when temps get below 40. Very picky about stocking caps too, as most make my bald head itch 🥴

Widebrim fishing hat when mowing/weedeating.

Otherwise I just let the baldhead shine !!

I won't wear one unless there's a need. Cold outside, I'm gonna be in blazing sun all day, etc. Then I wear the hat that's appropriate for the need. Otherwise I can't stand the things.

I don't mind other people wearing hats. Some people are just hat wearers. I'm not. Personal preference thing I guess. After about an hour it starts to annoy me having something "gripping" my head, even if it's super loose I can feel it there. I can tolerate it if necessary for the conditions, but otherwise I like my head to be "free" of anything on it!

I'm with Bart ... Stetson for hot sun ... Wool cap if it's cold ... Ball/trucker cap if it's raining hard ... To keep the front of my hooded rain jacket up out of my face, but keeps "most" of the rain off my glasses!

Maybe once every 2-3 years a hardhat if required at one of my customers, I have one that looks like a cowboy hat! 🤠

Depends: I have a embroidered ball cap for Bible Handouts "Ask me for free Bibles!". I have a navy Astros ball cap kind of my gray man hat here in Houston. In the winter I have a Navy surplus wool beanie.

Wide brim straw hat for gardening mowing and whatnot. Brim is quite wide, shades the neck and a bit of the shoulders. I have always had a ladies farmer tan but now I want to cover my neck face and shoulders as much as possible.

Otherwise I don't wear a hat. But sometimes a beanie at night when it's very cold.

Ball caps for me since I have little hair. I have already had some offensive things frozen and excised from my head and ear. I have about 5 or 6 I rotate. I have an old Carhartt that got dirty from working on the car, amazingly enough it got clean when I washed it last week.

Boonie hat when outside at home. Floppy, soft, very comfortable, fits my head, keeps the sun off, washable. Baseball style caps (small collection) with various logos on them for outside in public when it's hot and sunny. Knit caps (toque) in the winter.

Ball hat, or a Huckleberry Finn (old straw hat with holes in it - LOL). When I'm feeling Indiana Jones-ish, a Stetson fedora. Or a doo-rag.

Hunting and fishing I usually wear a Kryptec baseball hat with a patch on the front that says "Beard the **** Up", and one on the back says "That Guy.". Also I have a boonie hat in the pixelated military pattern (can't remember the name of it.)

I think it is often called a Tilly hat. When I lived in the mid-west a baseball cap worked well enough on hot sunny days. Now living in the south, I need more coverage to avoid being burnt so i wear a larger Tilley hat. I don't wear it because of this but I reminds me of the hat my father wore while in Vietnam. South Florida is probably as hot as Vietnam in the summer time.

I love that hat. I’d like one like that but grey, if ya happen to know where I could find one?

Boonie hat, versatile. Ball cap occasionally. Knit cap in the winter.

What folks don't realize is how the Pakol cap can hide stuff in plain sight.

For example... I often tuck this into the rolled up folds.

You can also slide in this ... or smaller... bodycams or spycams. Just peeking over the folded part.. it won't fall out and it won't be noticed while you record everything you see, hands-free. Mine is a little large... but much smaller ones are easily available online.

And of course you can roll up some money for emergency use into the folds.

The topi (hat/cap) I most hate and will never wear is the Sindi Topi (Sind is the state I live in).

Its covered in tiny mirrors and it makes you look like an organ grinder's ghey monkey. Only for men, thank goodness.

I rarely wear a hat. I will wear a bucket hat on a hot sunny day. I might wear a winter hat if I'm not wearing a hooded coat in winter. I have one with a peak and ear flaps, that can fit in a pocket. It is supposed to be waterproof I think, made by Sealskinz. Apart from those extremes, just a cycling helmet, with a cycling cap underneath (not peaked, just a season appropriatee skull cap) when on my bike.
