The ARMY is still useing the M24 sniper rifle as there base but in the sand box I believe they've been axperimenting with the new XM110 which is said to replace the M24. The XM110 is basically a SR25 with a $13000 price tag.
Also the M14 / M21 has been reissued as a repeatable counter sniper.
M24 - 7.62 x 51mm NATO Bolt Action
XM110 - 7.62 x 51mm NATO Semi-auto
M14 / M21 - 7.62 x51mm NATO Semi-auto
The Marines are still useing the M40A3
M40A3 - 7.62 x 51mm NATO Bolt Action
The M24 and the M40A3 are built on the Remington 700 platform.
You can purchase these weapons on the civilian market but will cost you what a smaal car cost.
I have a Remington 700 PSS and she shoots 1/2 min allday if I do my part and cost me about a 1/5th what a milspec version costs.
I also have a M1A Loaded (civilian version of the M14) and she shoots 3/4min if I do my part.
