Buddy is taking me fishing for Sea Bass here in a few weeks, wondering what you all use for bait?

I know nothing of fishing in salt water.

So your saying fish them off the bottom? I was thinking squid as well, work well for everything in my book when it comes to SW fishing (this coming from the guy who has been SW fishing once LOL) Buddy said he is using surface lures with decent luck.

It is practical to use a two-hook rig, leaving the lower hook on the bottom and the upper one 2 to 3 feet off the bottom. Sea bass can be nibblers and bait stealers, so it pays to keep an eye on your bait. I usually catch them when fishing for flounder on the bottom. I am not a fan of Black Sea Bass.

I have heard they are being caught in this certain location at as long as three feet. Thats big in my book. What size hooks am I looking at using?

Heavy jigs (white or chrome) with fresh squid, gently bounced off the bottom floor always works for me...
