I have not had anchovies in... well... many years but people suggested them here so I bought a tin. I like the idea of a sturdy cans and fish oil and fat and all that. However, I am not a big fan of fish and these anchovies seem to be concentrated fish x2. The though of stuffing these things down my gob even if I was starving is not so nice. In a sub-SHTF minor emergency (blackout, blizzard, etc) what can I do to make these things more palatable?

I tried one on some bread but just kind of got bready concentrated fish x2.

TIA

The trick is don't do very many. As you found out they are very strong flavored. When I have a Ceasar Salad I want 2, maybe 3 of those little guys; just enough to get the flavor without having it overpower everything else. Same thing on pizza. A little goes a long way...

apparently they are good with spaghetti bolognese, so maybe with ravioli and other pasta and tomato sauces.
As S/R said Pasta putanesca, I have some other good recipes using them somewhere. I'll dig em out.
Just make sure they are a good quality and in good oil.
