I've been stocking up on salt and all of them seem to have chemical additives and anti-clumping things in them. What brands are out there that only contain actual salt?

We usually buy sea salt and grind it ourselves or get kosher.
Good idea, but do be aware iodine is necessary for optimal health so if you don;t get it else where in your diet, some plain iodized salt on the table once in a while isn't a bad thing.

For the brands without the weird chemicals look for the cheapest price. the 98 cent container of salt is the one loaded with anti clumping chems etc.. the 38 cent container of salt is just salt and iodine.

Interesting fact: Only sea salt is naturally white, regular salt is black when mined and then bleached white so it doesn't get mixed up with the pepper on the dinner table.

Walmart carries Ball Preserving and Pickling Salt in 2.5lb plastic containers. It's pure salt.
Normally priced at $1.79,....but you may find it on clearance sometimes for 25 cents. It's with the canning supplies.

Its funny you said the pickling salt because I just bought 6 canisters at Wally World for $.50 each on clearance and their "Fresh" date is still two years out.
