Im looking at buying a Remington 700 XCR II and like to know what your thoughts are on it. Im new to shooting and will be going out every chance i get. really what id like to know is about the accuracy, durability, how easy it is to take apart and clean or whether i would have to take it to a smith.

My thoughts for what they are worth, generally nothing according to my wife, is that the 700 is the standard by which all off the shelfs are measured. It will be more accurate that a Ruger and will not not have as good a trigger out of the box, as a Savage. If you spend as much for glass as the rifle, the combination will outshoot 98% of all rifle shooters. The difference is up to you.
