I know other countries didn't used to be as attractive to live in. and we mostly all have friends and family we wouldn't want to leave behind, but doesn't it seem to make sense in a lot of ways right now to get the heck out of here?!

I mean, there are quite a few places I can think of off the top of my head that will be much better than what we are facing.

I think we all seem to be hoping for the best and that is good. But it kind of seems like complete collapse is imminent at this point and I think I would rather be elsewhere...Belize, Denmark, France, UAE even....

Thoughts? I know it takes money, among other things, but really, why not?

Would you want to be someone with a US passport post amerika?

Sorry, already took the oath and I'll uphold it to my last breath. I'll not run in the face of my enemies.

I can't think of anywhere that you'd have a better chance of survivng any type of meltdown than here in the US.

EDIT: If you think that the rest of the world won't follow this country right down the economic ****ter within a week, you are deluding yourself. Most of the rest of the world is already further down the toilet than we could ever imagine, politically, economically, and every way else.
We feed the world for the most part and in this country, the good people have guns as well as the bad so its a more level playing field.
Think you'd survive somewhere else for longer? I doubt it very very much.

Stay along for the ride, its going to be interesting, and participating is so much more fun than sitting on the sidelines wishing you were in the game.

SECOND EDIT: By staying, you could also live up to your handle. Liberty is not won, or kept by submitting to one's enemies or fears. It is won and kept by eternal vigilance and by the vanquishing those who threaten it.

a very large part of me agrees with every word. And the rest of me doesn't really disagree (except i never took an oath). I have just thought about it a little and been curious if it would be a good choice. I suppose it would a be really just a (lame) excuse to travel for me. I do love our country and our Constitution and our founding fathers and heritage. I love what they did. I love freedom. For me though the ultimate freedom is something inside me (especially thanks to Jesus) that they can't take away. I also have very small children, and their safety is of concern. Thanks for you comments

If the shtf America is still America. I believe it will be a societal, economic collaspe. Things will be very ugly for the first 8 months, then shaky for the next 2 years. The American People, such as us, will bounce back. Once the dust settles we'll come out and kick start life back into this Country. That is, the ones that survive.

As a Christian, you're chances of being percecuted, maybe even tortured and killed are far greater outside the borders of this country than within, despite all the nonsense that goes on with taking down the Ten Commandments, manger scenes, ect. Some places, if you have a bible, they'll lop your head off and leave your carcass for the dogs.

Ask some people who've travelled or worked in other countries, particularly the less industrialized ones if they are glad to be home in the US. I'll bet you'll find a 100% yes rate in the answers you get.

You're survival chances are exponentially greater here than anywhere else.

This is a great place to "survive". Other than here, I would only want to be in central Canada or maybe eastern Russia.

What about a trip to the Pacific islands or something? Ya know, Sit on the beach for a week with a lady friend? Maybe go climb a mountain in the Canadian Rockies? Or would that be unpatriotic?

I was born and raised in this country, have served it militarily for 24 years and will not live elsewhere.

It is worth note that,

"The grass is always greener, on the other side of the fence."

Besides, as I see it, if this country collapses in some way, shape or form, it will need its best and strongest people to resurrect her.

I am one of those people.

My families blood has been shed for this country. For 300 years we have bled for this country. In war, hard work or natural disaster. I will fight for for it. My children will fight for it. When I am gone of that I am sure. To much blood has been shed to just leave.

Why on earth would you want to be in Big Brother controlled UAE? I hear it's as bad as most people fear the States could get... as far as surveillance on the people etc.

I'd go for Costa Rica or Switzerland myself...

If things got really bad- I'd take my children out of the country if I could. My primary mission would be to protect *them*. I'd hate to see my country fall- but I would hate even more to see my family die or be destroyed. Although as far as I am concerned, our country fell the day it became a corporation. And again when we left the gold standard. And again every time we allowed corruption to reign. Modern America is far from the America I was taught about as a child- the ideal.

Umm, have you ever been to Belize? I have and I can't imagine why you would ever want to live there? Those people have more problems than we have! Housing is definitely cheap but they can barely pay for their food. A VERY poor country.

Belize is now a crime infested country, where the court system is a joke, and officials can be bought.

Staying here is your best option, Americans are the hardest working people in the world (some), we can turn this mess around in a few years, get off the oil baby bottle, and get back in the saddle without the arabs of course.

Maybe a better location here in the US is your answer.
