He could also pull his wood, strip them down, sand them to open the wood pores and then bleach the wood. Then if he wanted, he could come up with a light yellow or golden tint for it and finish the wood. Just a thought. Not sure what kind of wood it is, but most wood will bleach, unless it is a truly dark wood to begin with.
