I went to buy 2 boxes of my 7.62 ammo and nothing. Was completely empty. 9mm and 40 as well

Went to a completely other store and it was the same thing.

Should I buy what I can online and deal with shipping or hope ammo stocks will come back???

Sam's kids are a bunch of rich, spoiled rotten little socialists who will eventually phase out anything that has to do with shooting/hunting. The only thing that has stopped them so far is that the board of directors still has some of Sam's old hunting buddies on it; when they are gone, the guns and ammo will be gone too.

If they are out on the shelf ask the person working. They usually have ammo in the lockup in back. I worked at a Walmart in sporting goods for a while. When I was there we had at least 5 thousand rounds of 40 S&W on the shelf, and that was at a small store. The stuff just sat there the whole time I worked there and never sold any of it.

i to used to buy my ammo at wally world. i droped my wife off at work on thursdays early in the morning then i would go to get me some of their 9mm and 410 and 45 long colt. they were the cheapest around i would ask the cat working that department and he would get it out and i could put it in my cart and finish my shoping. then one day i go in same as always. i ask the guy to get me some ammo.he gets it out but does not hand it to me and says you are going to have to pay for this here they will not let you walk around the store with it anymore and also you will need to keep it in the bag if you are going to keep shoping. hmmm then this is where i said he could put it back. i get out my debit card and he says i need your drivers lic. i open my bill fold to show him and he says i need you to take it out so i can scan it !! i said why ?? he says because they need to keep track of who is buying this stuff. i said who is keeping track and why. he just stares at me and says do you want it or not ?? i now pay my local gun shop about dollar and a half more per box and dont even have to get my lic out !!!! SCREW WAL- MART problem is it will be this way every where soon.

huh.... I haven seen any of that here? It was pretty bare last sommer but good supplies of everything. They have always wanted you to pay for it at the sporting goods counter but I have never been asked for ID....
Both the walmarts I shop at for ammo siad they are getting guns in a few weeks.... 7.62 in abundance here. 47 cases of it at one store! Not boxes, CASES :thumb:

Never heard of anything like that around here either...a decent stock again here...finally. Last year I did hear they were phasing ammo out of the smaller walmarts.. I heard this from the sporting goods fellow at a small walmart over in Baxley, Ga.

When I was in school, I worked for Walmart and let me tell you something! If it isn't on the shelf, it is in the back. The problem is, they are so damn disorganized in the back stock areas, that you usually can't get to stuff. The bosses are only concerned with what the corporate offices want. Anyways, I'd go with what ever is the best deal you can find.

Only two? In STL I can count off the top of my head 5 within 15 miles of me.

I must say ammo and fishing stuff are like the only things I will admit to buying there. I usually dont because their selection is poor much of the time(one is right across the river from Illinois and people from Il. probably go there to buy it up) and when I find myself going there alot is after midnight.

I have found regular gun stores a better option. They actually know about what they are selling unlike Wally World.

I asked once for 12 gauge number 4 buckshot and the guy said they only got 2 3/4, 3, and 3 1/2. I then explained to him what I meant and the meaning of the different markings.

My first shot gun was a Rem 800 # 1/2 supermag because the jerk who knew better said that they would be my best choice for a first shotgun and then sold me 3 1/2 buckshot shells. I knew nothing about guns at the time. I hope to see that A-Hole again somewhere, but alas he is most likely dead due to heart attack.

yep they just started scaning you driver lic about three months ago. and i agree they do have very good prices. i was buying federal 9mm for 9.97 a box of 50. last time i went in there a couple of weeks ago i went past the ammo locker and that same federal 9mm is 11.97 a box of 50. even if it was still 9.97 i would not get it just for the fact someone feels the need to keep track of how much ammo i buy what business is it of theirs ?? and you are right they wont miss my money and it is a shame we have become sheep and feel the need to fall for this kind of treatment in our own country. some of us need to grow a spine for the sake of our children.

well that would be correct i think the next one would be in the quad cities bout twenty mile up river.about asking to see my ID and scan it they used to let me put it in my cart finish my shoping then check out up fron. when i did that they called over a manager to overide the system because im 49 years old and they could tell i was not some punk trying to by rounds. i might have to head up that way next week end and see what happens then post on here to let ya all know..
