I've read in places that Academy Sporting Goods also provides a 10% discount you access during the checkout process.

FYI

I also use my 10% discount at Brownells and Primary Arms. I have a 10% discount set up at Daniel Defense, although I've never bought anything there.

Midway USA and Bravo Company don't have discounts. I don't think PSA does either.

Joe Bobs has an "honorary" 5% discount meaning you don't need to prove it.

Thanks! I knew about the Joe Bob's one but not Brownells or the PA one. :thumb: These discounts along with the stuff BCA are going to be a big help with builds & spare parts. We need to compile a list of sites that give discounts to military & 1st responders. I've come across some sites that have discounts just for active duty military & current LEO's but not vets or other 1st responders, but I think there are a few current LEO's that post here, not sure about any active duty people on SB.

I couldn't find out much about the Brownells discount, they say they have a mil/le specific site, but I couldn't find it, just this page & picture.
You have to email them and they will want a copy of your DD214 (you can block out your SSN or whatever) or other paperwork for the other types like LEO/FR. Not sure about the LEO/FR requirements as I didn't do those.

After you do that, everything on the site shows the discounted price, I think in green color, IIRC.

I wonder if any of those places give discounts to military supporters? You know, like tax payers whose taxes go to fund the military or dads like me who provided a son for four years I didn't see but twice that whole time so he could serve his country?

Maybe I'm wrong but this stuff sometimes seems sort of lopsided to me.

Then join the military or become a LEO/1st responder. If seeing people who served getting a small discount from a store as a thank you for their service bothers you that much, don't shop there. I bet it really chaps your ass seeing the elderly & kids get discounts too, huh? You probably also aren't aware that people in the military also pay taxes out of the paltry income they receive. We also pay taxes after we get out & before we went in.

Thank your son for me. Thank your family for me for your sacrifice. And I wasn't "bitching" about military and first responders. Once again your lack of reading skills comes though. And again my point was everyone makes a sacrifice for the service of the community and the country.

And as for "ignoring me" you are not doing a very good job of it.:D:

And saying I have a "head injury" is that your best? Oh! You are a real meanie! I am so hurt. What a lightweight.

Sarco no I don’t want a discount too. I am so overstocked now that even if I got a 50% discount I wouldn't know what to buy.

Once again my point is that when someone from any family serves no matter if it’s in the military, PD, FD a little part of the family of that person serves with them. Recognizing someone for their service is proper and good. But those families and all that support them need to be recognized also. It is that simple. Now wasn’t that easy.

From the success I've had with Bud's gun shop, I have to believe there is no actual discount offered for vets. I've been trying for a week to get verified with them. I've uploaded both my VA I.D. & DD-214 multiple times on their site, as well as emailed them copies of both as suggested by one of their chat flunkies. I got verified by BCA in about 10 minutes in the middle of the night last veterans day.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't do what I do to get a discount somewhere.

I'd feel like a heel asking for one, and it seems unsavory to expect one.

Don't get me wrong, I've had my lunch paid for by some anonymous stranger (and paid it forward) or been offered a discount by my server (who just made their tip bigger), but I've never sought it.

But hey, that's just me. You guys do you.

Careful not to photocopy your federal or military IDs. Photocopying some of them is illegal... and unwise.
