Santiago, Chile:

Riots, buildings burned, people have died, tanks in the streets.

Roads blocked, transportation at a stand still, schools closed, long lines at grocery stores, curfew.

Socialists are mad because they can't get a good paying job, poor education, not enough free stuff so they go on a rampage and make everyone suffer.

Where will they strike next next.

Last I heard: venezuelan civilian 'refugee' sympathizers and cuban/venezuelan intelligence stirred the pot in Ecuador as it was moving away from the grip of the left.

Then they hate Chile as it has not been very lefty (left light at times) since Allende and the south american lefties can't stand to see them be successful, so... venezuelan regime sympathizers and cuban/venezuelan intelligence have also stirred the pot there.

Having said that, the 24 families oligarchy that runs Chile has created somewhat of a winner-takes-all economy, where macrocompanies owned by the oligarchies take everything, while organic, independent competition has been swiftly struck down commercially by sheer weight or by the implementation of legal red tape favouring the really big players and hindering new, smaller players.

You get exactly the gubernment you voted for. Mexico on down could use another revolution. They let the drug cartels and others buy the gubernment and the judges. In the good times the rich get richer and poor do ok; in the bad times the rich get richer and the poor starve.

Where is Simón Bolívar and Pancho Villa when you need them.

Bolivar was a despot. Probably cut from the same cloth as his oponent the despicable king of Spain, Fernando VII, known by most spaniards as the Felon.

The refugees from Venezuela have spread out across South America. I was in South American earlier this month and was shown doctors whose credentials don't count doing manual labor. Wouldn't be suprised if riots happen in more countries.

Yea, well it depends who you ask - George Washington was a terrorist and Pancho was a bandit. Freedom fighters don't always end up getting what they wanted, just a revolving set of NWO/SWAMP POS (Demoncrats and Rebloodlicans) with the notable exception of Trump who isn't part of that crowd.

You have just hit the nail on the head why all of those Latin/S. American countries from Mexico to Argentina are not successful. Their people suffer for it their entire lives. The only way to ever get ahead is by doing something illegal or paying someone off along the chain.

I can see the start of it here. Proctohauntus and Ballless Burnie want to give away everything for free to anyone and make the rich pay.

Aside from hardly any pukeatition keeps their election promises there isn't enough money on the planet to pay for their programs - sooner or later just printing money doesn't work anymore.

100 trillion dollar Zimbabwe note only $90 USD

I *assume* this translates into higher winter produce prices for us :xeye:

Yes and no. Washington led a movement that created a patriotic republic that evolved into a powerhouse of trade and knowledge due to its strong founding principles based in morals, regard for virtue and experience. Redress with England was sought for years by the Americans before physical war started, and even during the physical war it was still sought in the early stages.

Bolivar was a leader of a reactionary movement (Fernando VII of Spain made George III of England look a capable monarch) that collapsed into multiple adversarial states that hate each other (e.g. Venezuela vs Colombia, Peru vs Ecuador, Argentina vs Chile) and directly led to the continuity of feudalism/oligarchy by the power wielding mestizo and indiano elites (e.g Peru, Ecuador), which eventually set their hugely unequal societies' fertile ground for nurturing both big government and marxist movements (Colombia's FARC, Venezuela, Ecuador, Argentina's Peronismo, Chile's Allende).

The powers that be are trying to turn the US and Canada into something similar. They are succeeding fairly well in Canada.
