Poncho, you can set it up like a tarp,Use it in the rain,And at night when your camping you can see better if anyone or thing is approaching, Which you carn't do with a tent.I do like a tent on the mountains.

Tent, keeps bugs out and adds a false sense of security.

You can use a mossi net with a poncho to keep bugs out and its still lighter than a tent.

I always use a tent but mates of mine use tarps, I think the little extra weight is well worth it but hey, I just like tents.
