I stumbled on Patriot Nurse just a few days ago. I just love her videos. The 'Who will die first' video really helped me a lot, as my Dad is a insulin Diabetic.

I just love her First Aid kit for $50s, we in the UK might have to look for different brand names, but Im sure we could find something similar.

I also like her gardening container video - it gave me lots of ideas, as our garden/yard is probably just a little bigger then her back porch - we do have a 5ft fish pond in it.

I cant wait until shes uploads more.

just some thoughts:

Looking at the "who will die first" video, excellent analysis, and everything she says makes a good bit of sense. The only thing I might add is that a group of neo-hippies with a grasp of OPSEC (my group is something like this) might make a reasonable stand and be worthy of consideration as an ally.

"The psychological impact of collapse": LOVE the inclusion of music. We might have a resurgence of bards when TSHTF. Something tells me that, for most of us, there's someone in our lives that is not a prepper that we'd nonetheless would like to see continue to live. Beyond the material preparations helping people in your group that didn't see it coming deal with a new reality seems like a very practical consideration. The only thing I might add is that libraries are unlikely to be the most raided establishments should TSHTF, and it might be worthwhile to legitimately borrow a personal library as entertainment.

"Top 5 antibiotics": Just want to add that for topical injuries (even little cuts and scrapes) antibacterials and astringents can save you a lot in terms of the need for antibiotics. A stitch and time and etc. Beyond the cost factor, you can find many natural sources and better to use oak tannins and a bit of bleach than ampicillin on that staph-infected insect bite.

Loving the series, and am looking forward to her uploads.

I am so covered on this one - I do volunteer game demos for a local company, I have a stack of awesome games. That's besides all the regular stuff I had anyway, and now I need books and stuff for the diaper crew.

Saying that anyone who uses a CPAP will be among the first to die is a bit of a stretch. Not everyone who uses one is Morbidly Obese, or in bad shape. Now it will have some long term affects on those who are still somewhat healthy and need them, but as for immediate death, not likely. Now for those who are already in bad shape, Morbidly obese, and heart problems already, then yes they wont last very long.

Other than that my wife and I pretty much agree with everything she says:thumb:

You are wrong here.

If you are in good physical shape, and not morbidly obese, and still need a cpap, you are going to have a very very hard time if SHTF. I dare say she is right in that respect and you will end up dying if things got bad enough.

You cant lose weight.

You cant get in shape.

What other options are there if you absolutely have to have a cpap to breathe when you are asleep? Maybe there is something I haven't considered but prior to invention of the cpap (and similar devices) these people died early deaths.

I'm a nurse too. I like her. On to CPAP's. There are those who NEED them and are those who HAVE them. Those with good insurance plans, money, and an accommodating Doctor can get them to "make life better". Those who don't really NEED them can do fine. Those who depend on them are in danger. A friend of mine has one he doesn't use (due to the noise his wife complains), his doc told him to use this or lose weight and quit smoking.

I've been watching her vids for quite some time now and I really admire her. When I was diagnosed as Type II diabetic in June, I began a regular exercise program and changed my eating habits. So far I've lost just over 60 pounds and that's only what is apparent to the eye. I don't know what we all face as far as shtf scenarios or teotwawki but I intend to do what I can to try and reverse and hopefully stop my diabetes in its tracks. I want to live! Kudos to ThePatriotNurse.

Currently at a place where they have highspeed internet vs dial up that we have at home.

Really like the videos I have been able to watch so far. Especially the shelf life information. I asked a pharmacist at work about a medication we have at home. He could not provide any further information about the true expiration date.
