no, he wont, not even with a scope and match ammo, Those old clunks wont group better than 2 " at 100 yds from field positions, and 2" at 100m is NOT 10" at 500m, Due to canting of the rifle, wind, mirage, rain, cold, smoke, snow, target movement, crappy trigger pull and mollasses-like lock time, the Mosin, scoped and with match ammo, wont reliably hit a 15" disk at 500 yds, in typical field condtions, from a field position.

Maybe your Mosin Nagent was crappy? Please don't judge everyone else's guns by your experience. Too many people love those old Nagents with good reason.

I used to have one and it was highly accurate at 100+ yards off the shoulder in the field and just as accurate at 300 - 400 yards, using my backpack on the ground. No scope. (Loved those sliding iron sights!)

Mosin Nagant lovers will enjoy this video... (I'm glad I never needed a hammer. I suppose that particular rifle must have some interesting stories to tell, lol)
