you watch tv?

Television is a luxury anymore for me that I don't often get to do. I will comment that the maid of honor's dress was beautiful (saw the pictures on the internet)

 

Mostly discovery channel, learning channel,,, stuff like that

 

Didn't we fight a war so we didn't have to worry about the royals anymore?

 

I flipped the channels to check the news and only Fox had news.

I watched for about 15 minutes and just tried to imagine all the money that could have been used say for, feeding the hungry.

I just don't get it,this making a spectacle of the super rich is like rubbing the noses of the masses in the dirt.
Funny no protester's were evident, oh yeah they were thrown in jail....

Maybe you need to get out of the British section and into your own!

 

Oh I dunno about that mate, theres plenty of us Brits who are stauch republicans, even the lowest estimate by royalist supporters put us at 20% and our own figures put us around 40%, so thats at least 12 million up to 24 million of us who would rather see us live in a meritocracy republic, rather than a bolloxed up monarchy.

Don't watch the wedding, it's put there to distract you. Watch instead the price of Brent crude, West Texas Intermediate, Gold and Silver and what Bernanke and Trichet are doing, you might also want to keep an eye on the 'bay of pigs' operation in north Africa/middle east, which is in danger of developing into a much larger conflict with China and Russia.........you may also want to monitor anarchist and conspiracy websites/forums to get the heads up on when any trouble is going to erupt on the streets here......

The wedding is over but I'm sure we'll still have to listen to 2 or 3 weeks worth of Royal honeymoon updates

 

You should get a more modern televison and radio. Mine comes with an off button - not that I have to use it much because I rarely push the on button.

 

Oh crap, next is the baby bump watch.

 

Naaaa they are trying to distract 60 million sheeple from the fact the UK is bankrupt and apart from being ran by Brussels its filling up with illegal immigrants.

They will probably resort to the good old standby of bumping off one of the spare royals they have laying around.

 

I thought it was lovely.

I also think stepping outside of my box and checking out the rest of the world is a good way to open my mind to "otherness".

Besides, I'm a hard-working country girl, and seeing a fairy-tale princess wedding makes me smile.

What I saw of the wedding was lovely. No matter what she was yesterday, on a girl's wedding day she is a princess. Kindly let us dream in peace.

Personally, I'd pick Queen Elizabeth or Prince William as a ruler over what we have in the US right now. That's seriously ironic since I had tons of ancestors who fought with Washington in the Revolutionary War. But I believe Queen Elizabeth is a woman of integrity and good sense, and Prince William is intelligent and tempered by the loss of his mother. Someday he may be as important to his country as his great-grandfather was.

 

Well apparently loads of Brits did fight with the Confederacy as well :thumb:

 

I'm no great fan of monarchy and all that it represents.... But William seems like a decent chap, and Kate is gorgeous, so I wish them both well.

Lets look past the money which is always going to be a huge issue as we can always use the money for other things.

The tourism and $$$ that will be generated around the world from spin offs will be just huge,
The estimate I heard is from tourism alone the UK takes in $2 billion a year and a lot of this is thanks to events like this.

This whole event cried out BRITISH/ENGLISH did you see how many flags and how many British people are proud to cheer on ENGLAND....the person who mentioned how they locked up protesters well thank F@#% they did I don't want Muslim extremists showing their faces on this day.

This was a celebration of a member of the royal family who serves in the Armed Forces and shouts out ENGLISH.

What a great day for England.

With all the depressing news recently this is something to make you smile and you know what when the SHTF you will always need something to lift your morale.

Arguments aside,for them,or against,I decided to take the day for what it is and enjoy it.I like william, and kate is very pretty,I enjoyed a day off from work and a bit of light relief and happiness made a refreshing change for me.

I can't stand the royal family their a bunch of leaches, everything they have, has been stolen from its people. The only reason people give to them still being here is that they apparently bring in tourism.

I say seize all their assets and turn a few of their homes into museum with anything of historical intrest, then sell everything else off and use the money to help pay down some of the debt. I'd give them £100,000 each and tell them to fu*k off to somewhere that wants them (US maybe).

You should have no power unless you earn it. A birth right is just wrong.

 

Their family did earn it, sword in hand, on the battlefields of Europe. And the wealth of their plunder has been passed down through the ages. If you don't like it blame your ancestors for not fighting harder.

Congrats on the wedding! The queen gave the bride and groom THREE new titles! In an effort to keep up, I think we should give Obama three new titles. I suggest SOB as one but he may already have that one. Can anyone think of other titles for our POTUS? :
