So let me preface this by saying I'm incredibly racially tolerant. I grew up as one of the only Caucasian families in a predominantly Puerto Rican/black neighborhood in Brooklyn and spent my entire life up until 18 in NYC. With that being said political correctness has gone way way way to far. We need to temper it with some common sense.

So to illustrate my point I'm looking around the interwebs this morning and I see the details on the new Spider Man movie. Well in this movie they are killing off the original spider man and bringing in a multi-racial latino black to fill his place. Anyone else aside from me find that a bit...........overly ridiculous? Kids don't care what race the superhero is all they care about is that they are doing good things and being super.

I apologize for my rant but the above, mixed with the fact that when I went into a restaurant and saw they were hiring....only in spanish, has gotten me rather annoyed.

The movie is only following the comic. The original Spider Man was killed off long ago, now they've come up with another one, one who better fits the 'American demographic'. Gay, black, latino. He's probably also bisexual and rides a Harley-Davidson.

Is it overly ridiculous? Sure, but it's an American comic, so we just go with it. It's what they do.

If I believed it were as simple as following the demographic I would not have any heartburn with it.

But I believe it is an attempt to pander to the GLBT lobby. Which makes it political BS and actually propaganda.

The GLBT lobby has a strangle hold on Hollywood, any script is ran by them for approval. They are constantly lobbying to get gay characters in TV shows and movies, and they pretty much have approval privileges on how a gay person is portrayed.

Don't misunderstand me. I'm not knocking any race or gender preference. I don't really care if spiderman is mixed race and likes boys. I don't really care where you put your pecker. I just don't like misrepresentation in the cause of propaganda.
