Thanks for a helpful article. I've buried my caches off-site because I'm sure I'm on somebody's list and don't want authorities or thieves to be able to find my stuff with an intensive search where I live. Even a big safe bolted to the floor is not as secure as several buried caches. Once you have seen how they yank multi-ton logs off the logging block up to the landing it becomes clear that a brief visit from a big truck with a heavy cable and winch could leave you safeless with a huge, gaping hole in your house.

I will begin work soon on stealth protection for buried caches so metal detectors can't "see" them.
