make sure the key is properly staked. if not use a punch or call the manuf. remember load 1 round shoot. load 2 rounds shoot. load 3 rounds shoot. this is to ensure the gun cycles and doesnt run away on you. good luck.

Fracture, I ordered the lower a month and a half ago or something. Mine was shipped out the next day. I've just been waiting to order an upper.
Luckydog, funny you should say that. I actually ordered a complete upper from DSA, the only thing they had in stock was the charging handle. Cancelled my order and went with MidwayUSA.

 

Nice work. This helps me out because now I shouldnt have to start a thread about building because you have what appears to be good quality parts for a good price.( I am an ar noob so forgive me if I sound rude.)

I WAS very leary of a plastic lower but after seeing the truck run over it and it was just fine.that truely eased my mind about it. thanx for the video :thumb:

 

Run it through a course hard then report back. None of this I shot 100 reliable round crap.

 

You buy the ammo and I will dump 1,000 through it.

 

I am debating doing a DIY build on the cheap as well. Looking forward to your range report!

I'm headed out to pick up my New Frontier lower in about an hour. The place I got mine was $99 for the complete lower. I bought an upper on Gunbroker with 500 rounds through it for $285 shipped. $100 for a bolt carrier group and I'm out he door for right at $500. Gunna break it in then cut loose.

 

Sweet! I have no doubt that my lower will stand up to some pretty hard use.
As far as the upper, to me it looks like a tank. We will see though. I am an AR noob.
I am not worried about my AR failing in a crisis, that is what I have the AK for.

 

Well, I took the AR out shooting today. It works.
I started off slow, then did some full mag dumps. Seemed to run just fine.

 

You know, I was not ever much of a fan of the AR, after the first one I saw bent at the buttstock. That little business with loading into the truck on the gun, while the other two guys held it has me just about convinced to take another look. A standard metal receiver won't put up with that kind of treatment.

Paladin, just get the complete lower, it's $99. I don't even think they sell the stripped lower.

 

they dont. just like the plum they have a lifetime warentee as long as you dont change the internals. i am sure if you want a trigger they would be more then happy to put one in but id ask them about it.

 

My initial impression of the AR is that it is snappier than my AK. The AK is more of a push, while the AR is just a quick snap.

 

If its snappy a spikes st-t2 buffer will prolly smooth it out a little.

 

I'm a local vegas guy and also own the new frontier lower matched with a palmetto state upper with fn barrel. This lower is excellent the only downside is can't add the bigger trigger guard not a big deal I don't plan on venturing through a snow covered region with big gloves on. Since my build I have unloaded 2k rounds and the lower is still strong... Really though ow much stress is on the actual lower? Not much it's a good entry level lower that's tough as nails
