TEOTWAWKI here now?

I talked to a friend (phone call) and a regular poster on Survivalist Boards this morning. He's very well informed of world events and the intricacies of many foreign governments and posts quite regularly on these subjects. Anyway our conversation dwelt mostly with conditions here in the US.

He has a friend (who I haven't met), that has not had much interest in survival who has now just announced (surprise) he is going to prepare for TEOTWAWKI. As the conversation progressed, I realized, at least for me, it has already happened.

I've been around a few years and if I had fallen asleep like Rip Van Winkle 25 years ago and woke up today, I wouldn't believe the world we have today. I do know that we have had far worse conditions throughout history, but in my long lifetime I've never seen anything close to what exists today.

When I see the news and listen to the woke views, drag shows in elementary school, possibly on the brink of WW III, race relations worse than I've ever seen them, fear of riots, school and neighborhood shootings, talk of civil war, counties that want to join other states, corrupt politicians, news reporters that flat out LIE, (they don't just slant the truth anymore, they LIE brazenly), food and merchandise scarcities, on and on. A looming recession/depression, droughts worldwide, starter homes in my area at $200,000, (how can young people get a start)? Homeless people on the streets begging, I could list more but I already have a run on sentences. :)

For me, the end of the world as I've know it is here. Hey and I'm an optimist. :)

I'm pretty well prepped but man, the future looks menacing.

take comfort in these truths:

God is still in heaven

You can still grow corn in the ground

Simplify life and protect that which is most precious to you. If you can do that you will find a way to make it through. Death for you (or me) is easy: nobody makes it out alive. But to protect those you love from pain and hardship, now there's the difficulty....

Yesterday was the end of the world as we knew it.
Every day is the same, the beginning of a new reality.

We can’t go backwards, we aren’t the same people as yesterday, we have learned, we have changed, we have gotten older at least.

Social and cultural changes happen, and when they do, it can be good or bad. But that determination is also best left to those to come after us.

My kids don’t have the same attitude and knowledge as I do. They weren’t there. My son cannot adjust a Holley 4 barrel, he doesn’t need to know, just like I don’t know how to harness a pair of draft horses like my grandfather grew up doing.

If the modern culture is going to bring down the current civilization, maybe that’s what needs to happen. But from what I am seeing, the kids are already pushing back against the woke BS. Which means that disaster may have been averted until tomorrow.

Until tomorrow comes, we just have to deal with life.

I have to admit there's a lot of crazy chit going around, but I don't think it's here yet.

One thing to remember, it is a matter of definition. I don't think the ultimate SHTF has occurred but the end of the world as I'VE known it most of my life certainly is far from what it was just a few years ago.

I too think it has all the signs of getting worse before it gets better. How much worse is a question best left to the prophets. :)

That is the prime reason I am such an avid prepper and have gone to such great lengths to prepare for harder times.

I would just like to see the world return to what it was, when I was a kid. The men worked. The preacher spoke the truth. The only thing you feared in school, was the paddle. Nobody knew what a transgender was.

Yes, I’m dreaming. I know those days are gone and will never return.
Don't forget the pendulum, I can't help feeling it's swung about as far left as it can go. Hopefully it'll begin turning around and swinging to the right soon and we can start putting some of this BS behind us. It probably won't go as far to the right as like we had it in the seventies and eighties. forget my childhood of the sixties, but even the early nineties weren't too bad.

Well maybe I'm alone in this view but I don't really think gays or trannies are as high up the list of issues causing the world to fall apart as some believe. But then my belief system is a fast horse and a clean gun. ;)

I think too many nut cases with nuclear buttons is a big problem. I think the modern barbarianism of mankind around the globe is a danger to most of the population now. I think we are killing the planet, the oceans are dying, the air unbreathable. And it's too late to stop it. That will be TEOTWAWKI.

not the root cause but symptoms of a bigger problem. in the West, a collapse of faith also means a collapse of social cohesion and the erosion of all our foundational institutions. the fallout from that can't help but cause a downward spiral until a new stability is found. if it can be found. it's the concept of the strauss-how model. the fourth turning. the cycles of civilization. the gay stuff is just evidence of it, not the root cause.

I lived thru the 1960’s.
Life was much worse then than now.
A morally bankrupt federal government, violence in the streets on a large scale, corrupt law enforcement, all that and more.

As far as a corrupt media, that has been a part of American life since our founding.

Simply study the federal government corruption and media corruption of 110 years ago when President Wilson was trying his best to get us involved in World War One.
It will be an eye opener for you, I guarantee it.

Unlike any other time in all history communications have revolutionized how corruption can advance it's self.
Degenerates find one another and bind together to defeat forces the oppose their behaviors. Due to the fact there are so many in government, any opposition is demonized and prosecuted. though they do not condemn their own evil works though exposed. (Scorpion and the frog).

I was watching a documentary about an 18 yo kid who was wrongfully incarcerated being set free after 30 years (I think). He didn't know how to function, with all the changes that had happened - the internet, people were angrier and in more of a hurry, a general state of discontent and bad behavior. The culture shock was debilitating.

Most people have frog in the pot type reactions, they just progress along with their demise, not realizing there is a problem until it is too late.

2020 was definitely the precipice of teotwawki. There will be no going back to a pre-Covid world, let alone a Mayberry world, imo.

I had to check to see if this was true—thought it must be a joke. Sure enough, funds go to Women’s Sports Foundation which supports men who think they’re women who compete against real women. God, what a joke. And I used to like Cracker Jack’s. Guess they’re in my do not buy list now. 😕
