What are your thoughts on tattoos?

I have several and have never regretted them. They are all easily covered for work and nothing is controversial. None the less, about 10 years ago when I as an OR nurse. I was asked to move my locker. It seems some of the Christians who shared my row of lockers didn't like looking at them. I moved into "Muslim corner", made new friends and never had another problem.

I have many, it doesn't bother me.

I've always been of the opinion that if someone gets offended by my tats it is their problem not mine.

The only ones that I think are a hindrance to people are if they are on the neck or face.

I have a tattoo. Its ok. I had it done when I was 18. I really liked it at first, and now its 'just there' and i don't really think about it. If someone is thinking about getting one, I would suggest spending extra money to see a good tattoo artist. Well done tattoos can be attractive, but poorly done tattoos can be grotesque.

Crossed my mind in Vietnam a couple times. But always said no didn't have them when I came into this old world guess thats the way I would go out. Any way I never saw that perfect Rats Arse tattoo that caught my eye.

Guess I just don't need art work to express my feelings

I've got a lot of coverage when it comes to tattoos. I love em' all, and paid a lot of money to have them done by top notch artists. For me it's like jewelry that can't be taken. Sure it can be used to I.D. me; and my past history. But I'm proud of that history. Not to mention my ink is ***in' sick! Also dosen't show unless I want it to. My boss about **** when he saw me changing my shirt. Known each other for years... He had no idea.

I have quite a few, I view them as scars of a misguided youth. Some are completed other are not and will stay that way. Used to sling ink also. But I never trusted to many people to ink me. Looking into removal for some of the tats I have, but since done with indian ink the cost is about 3500.00 per square inch, so I said screw it and rack it up to lifes experiences.

I have one that's easily covered and can't say i regret it. I waited 2 years before finally getting it done so it wasn't a rash decision either.
As long as you can cover them easily enough then I don't see what the problem is.

I have a Tasmanian Devil on my forearm. Well almost, it's just the outline because damn that hurt. Some day I'll get a tribal armband, but not the kind that goes all the way around because I couldn't imagine anyone sitting through that kind of torture.

I'm still looking into my first one but im just not sure what to have done so I keep waiting and waiting.

I saw a show the other day and the tattoo artist said that nowadays people don't need a reason to get inked just do it for arts sake....I would rather have some meaning though

I don't have any, but have often thought of getting a "grim reaper" on my shoulder. Just a reminder that death is always looking over our shoulder. I've spent hours looking at tats online but never seen "the one" . My thoughts lean to ink should be a badge that's earned, kinda like scars. I worked with an African that in his tribe as a boy earned manhood their face received three deep cuts on each side of face that left a nasty scar.

I have one that was done by a guy who was really inexperienced. I don't regret getting tattooed, just not taking my time and being willing to spend the money for a good artist. It's too big (entire upper arm) to make removal affordable, though I may have to if the Army starts cracking down like the paper says. It's not appropriate, but it's usually covered.

Honestly, I think I would have been just as happy without ever getting inked. I did it because I admire the artwork of the good ones, and wanted the same. Mines bad enough I usually wear a shirt when outside just to hide it.

My wife and I have a good laugh at all the tribal style tattoos. She's Hawaiian, and knows enough about the other Pacific Islander cultures to know what the tattoos mean. We once saw an episode of Cops where the suspect had a moko (Maori tattoo) on his chin, as spot that only women tattoo.......
