Ok, if my understanding is correct...

The chemical hand warmers that you can buy at Walmart are a more robust version (more chemical) of what we might find in the chemical oxygen absorbers that we're all using to protect our grains and such. I'm putting dots together here, my facts may be a bit off, but if memory serves...

At any rate, I have HUNDREDS of these handwarmers, but I'm out of oxy absorbers.

Does anyone think that they might cause problems? Will they work as a substitute?

They generate more heat than an oxygen absorber, although not enough to flash and cause a fire, even confined.

I just want to know if this is some simple fact that I have missed, or if somebody's tried it. Is there likely to be any serious consequences, etc.

Thanks everyone.
