I have no experience with this device, but looking at the specs, 2w output is not very much. It would take several days to charge most laptops with this.

You might be better off getting a larger, slightly more expensive panel. 6-7 Watt panels are ~$100 or so and are just as portable as the one shown. 15 Watt panels would be even better, but would be far less portable and more expensive.

It just depends on how portable it needs to be and how big your budget is.

For my Nephews birthday his wife got him one of these ( JOOS ) charger, www.solarjoos.com/ He loves it. He uses it all the time even when hes out at job sites it sits in his truck window on the dash charging up batteries for his flashlights. He has also us it out in the badlands while hunting mnt lions. I have nothing to do with this company except I like its charger.

18V output

I may not be reading the specs correctly because is appears that its output voltage can be up to 18V, unless these these adapters have dc to dc converters in them I wouldn't want to try and charge a 5V device.

check this one out

need to do more searching on deal extremes website but a quick look showed this one only $7 more: 4W 660mAh Foldable Solar Panel Battery Charger w/ 6 x Adapters. Appears to be proper output voltage, 600ma, judging by size probably mono panel.

We use goal zero panels with the nomad 10 battery charger. It won't charge a laptop, but works great for the cell phones and ipod. Goal zero does have larger units that will charge a laptop, and they are a bit more expensive, but you get what you pay for. Just my two cents.
