Cue our resident American Libtards to lecture us on how they can make it work in the US.

Or to tell us the reason it's failing in France is because America hasn't gone socialist and is thus selfishly (and probably racistly as well) withholding money that should be rightfully shared around the world to lift everyone out of the dump.

I don't want to start an argument, just posting for your information. People tend to interchange the words socialism and social liberalism.

What a lot of people call Socialism is actually Social Liberalism.

Socialism http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/socialism

any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods

Social liberalism http://www.definitions.net/definition/SOCIAL LIBERALISM

is the belief that liberalism should include a social foundation, implicitly on a collective basis. Social liberalism seeks to balance individual liberty and social justice. Like classical liberalism, it endorses a market economy and the expansion of civil and political rights and liberties, but differs in that it believes the legitimate role of the government includes addressing economic and social issues such as poverty, health care and education.

They vary from each other only by a small degree and given enough time the latter WILL turn into the former, as government interjects itself more and more into society in the name of "social justice"..

As mentioned I only put that out there for clarification. France is not a Socialist state, it is Social Liberalism which is further broken down between European vs. American Liberalism, but that is irrelevant..

You can justify the improper use of the word all you want, but knowledge is power. I'm just trying to make people more powerful in their arguments.

Edited: I wonder how long it takes before someone calls me a left wing liberal, just because I am trying to spread the true definition, basic PoliSci 101 stuff, lol.

The point(?) you are attempting to make is moot since as I said, given enough time the one becomes the other. All in the name of social justice.

So you are speaking in future tense, if you want to call someone socialist because it seems more derogatory than social liberalist, that's fine.

In describing what some country's , such as France, political/market system is in the present or past tense like this thread did, isn't it better to use the correct label.

I can see that you will twist it around until you are right. By definition France is not Socialism, and the point you are trying to make is moot until enough people incorrectly use the definition and it changes. Which by seeing the reaction I got over the proper definition, I would say is well on it's way, given time.

Don't make the mistake of thinking that's why people call you a left wing liberal...
LOL, personal attacks, not even knowing my political background, because of your hatred of me, Grow up. Take personal responsibility for your actions that lead to you getting banned for a while.

What are we averaging on the trolling of personal attacks nowadays? One a month. It's like I have a stalker.

You cannot have a free market economy, and civil liberties when the collective has the right to confiscate your stuff to give another. The whoe belief system is oxymoronic in my opinion.

If you have a closed socialist county money doesn't really matter. The country needs it for trade with other countries but individuals don't need it.

That I totally agree with. Never thought the clarification of political/market systems by Poli-Sci 101 definitions would create such anti-socialistic fervor, lol.
