i just heard a local radio show last night. there is a doctor in iowa city uni that now has 27 full time people in her care. they have been committed by family members for social networking addiction. most of them students that have ruined their chance of graduation or bieing able to take care of them selfs because of sites like facebook and others. it was a wake up call to listen to each of their storys. the one said she went to her class reunion and it was so boring. reason was because everybody already new what every one was doing on a hourly basis. she said there was nothing to talk about and every one was busy with their phones typing on facebook. one said she has 45 diffrent accounts and it was a race to see how many friends she could get on each one. she spent 17 to 20 hours aday on these sites. her parents from kentucky came up and put her in this withdraw class to try and get her back on track. very very sad people.

I know a woman in her 50s who is flat out addicted to Farmville with dozens of farm accounts. She plays it about 14-16 hours a day, stopping only to eat and sleep and blows up if any of her family comes into the room and insists she's working.

Sad. I know people make those choices for themselves, but Zynga is probably indirectly responsible for thousands of divorces in the last few years.
