No surprise there. I remember them from the 1960's - 100+ degrees, wind blowing so hard that parked big rigs would tip over, and fire blazing in the hills above town. Only real difference is there are so many more people now with lots more expensive property to lose.

I am SO thankful today.

Thankful I don’t live in California. Thankful my dad moved us out of California, and that he and my mom taught us to work and learn so that we could live wherever we wanted. Thankful I can cook my turkey in my oven at home without fear of losing power, thankful I could defend myself if someone attacked me without having to fear being attacked by the DA, thankful the stores aren’t being robbed with impunity by thugs....

There’s other things....but reading the news over the last few decades, I’m thankful California isn’t anything to me, but the place I was born long ago.
